... self-discriminatory...

"... self-discrinatory..." is obvious lysdexically transfoamed. Or, it could be the fact that I got an early Xmas present in the form of a bottle of Noclueahhh. Rather sweet, though. Unless you mix it with amber rum. That kinda takes the sugary taste away. Of course, if you wash it down with a beer every now and then, there's no problem.

Pleased saty tuned. Normal programming will resume... maybe tomorrow. Maybe not. We''ll see.

Hey, folks, do this...smile a big smile and relax! They can't mess up your Christmas if you don't let them, and your future happiness does NOT depend on a political party, it depends on you.

Besides, this too shall pass. And my guess is it will pass with barely a ripple in the greater scheme of things.

When voting day comes, go there with tongue placed firmly in cheek, vote for the guys you instinctively like the best, don't worry about the others, and remember...in 100 years from now NOBODY will care anyway! Heh!

Well, maybe you can when it comes to health care, and education, and day care, and job creation, and human rights, and.... hey... that Kahula is pretty good stuff.

Beer - I'm not voting Bloc (I live in B.C.) but I don't think having them in opposition is a bad thing. It keeps everyone on their toes, or should.

Naw - The Liberals will probably win another minority government which really makes this election a moot point.

If we end up with another Liberal minority, it'll be another vote of non-con and another election in a year at most. Those f___ers in Ottawa don't give a frozen poop how much tax dollars are wasted this way. It's all part of the big game they play till they can wallow at the trough.

OTOH, I'm not sure I want a Liberal majority under Paul "I think I'm in the Wrong Party" Martin.

Bob.. I'm sorry.
I meant to acknowledge that today but forgot. I even had it marked down in my agenda (have to keep one even though retired.). You will toooooooo.

Never got to the agenda book because I was so excited in the fact that I could sing again. I had my vocal chord (fold) fixing yesterday and for the first time in almost two years I can sing without some words not coming out.

I'm a beer drinker but Scotch is my true drink. Just can't afford the good stuff. Wish I was there to share or even smell that bottle. It is a good one. All the very best and I mean it.
I think we should exchange phone numbers as there is a topic that is close to both of us that we should talk about.

Sorry to get off the topic folks but retirement is very important.

Paul Martin would make a good baker or lawyer. Well, he IS a lawyer, isn't he? Jack Layton would make a great new age network chiropractor who treats 75 people simultaneously (at a $75 charge each) by playing musical tones on bells, and earns $7 million a year. I can just see it. Harper would make a good small town preacher or undertaker or car salesman. Duceppe would actually make a good politician! But...I'm really curious what the Communists and Marxist-Leninists have to offer in the leadership department... ;-)

K, it's true, according to the CBC.

The tax credit, aimed at parents with children under 16, would allow them to claim $500 in registration fees per child, to "provide modest tax assistance for families who have kids in sports and fitness activities," Harper said

Y'know, I'm glad I learned long ago not to watch the news before bed. This is real upsetting! I got nothing against sports, sports are great, but .... what about music, I say!   I wanna see a $200 donation per Canadian public school student, from the federal gov't, to be spent on high quality, mandatory public school music programs from JK up to Gr 12. AND a $500 credit for parents of private music students under the age of 16 too.

That would do more for this nation than any amount donated for sports!   Music education produces smarter, happier, community-minded people who are more in touch with their emotions, their creativity and with each other. ANd the younger kids start, the better.   Music develops co-ordination and concentration, enhances memory, builds math and science and reading skills, encourages the ability to work independently and trouble-shoot one's problems without supervision. It develops self-discipline, as the student learns to prioritize and budget time wisely to meet goals. PLus, music is enjoyable - it's soul-food!

And scientists continue to discover how much musical education and practice builds the brain. Through regular use, certain areas of musicians' brains grow larger and heavier and better "interconnected" than non-musicians.

And bigger brains must take much longer to freeze, too. Hey, maybe that's what's wrong with Harper. Is he a musician? Does anyone know? Does he want to produce a generation of well-muscled dolts or what?!?

For those with a burning desire to know the truth re Harper's musical talents/knowledge/expertise, the following is an excerpt from the Globe and Mail (Insider's Edition):

"Saturday, December 10, 2005, Page A9

Harper sings Lennon: You know how hard it can be

Hot: Stephen Harper. The Conservative Leader actually ventured to the back of his campaign aircraft Thursday night to sing to reporters. And it wasn't to sing policy.

A John Lennon fan, Mr. Harper was honouring the 25th anniversary of the musician's death and sang a verse of The Ballad of John and Yoko. He told reporters that the day has been forever etched in his mind."

Hmm. This explains alot. So he thinks he knows how hard it can be? HA! To paraphrase BTO, he ain't seen nuthin yet!

That $500.00 tax bread actually amounts to about $80.00. You can use the amount of registration fees as a tax deduction.

I agree, why not give it to public education for better P.E. programs if he is interested in the health of our children. It could also be used to enhance the music programs.

Buying votes is sooooooooooo transparent. What an idiot. More idiotic if you buy into it.

Most Canadians are under the false impression that the Liberals are the only party to support Medicare. When Prestom Manning was leader of the Reform party he proposed a few ways in which the system could be managed and improved and was immediately bombarded by Pravda (sorry the CBC) and accused of being a right wing Nazi out to destroy Canada. Our PM Jean Cretin (sorry Chretien) said "I wont touch your social programs" and had Paul martin the finance minister cut transfer payments to the provinces almost destroying some medicare programs.

Now we have seen several examples of waste by the Liberals.
A: Gun control.... complete and utter waste of a billion dollars that could have been used to support community programs medicare and the justice system.
B: several million dollars unnacounted for and no accounting for where they went (No not the patronage scandal)remember the lady who was reelected? If you or I had managed a job like that we would be doing twenty years hard labour. Here in canada we reelect them.
C: The patronage scandal millions of tax payers dollars frittered away to prime Quebec friends of the Liberals
D: The scrapped military helicopter replacement scandal. millions spent and lost, for some very expensive new helicopters that are mostly grounded for tail rotor problems. The original design choice but cheapened version and still no replacement for the aging Seakings.

Yes, Canadians will by the influence of the CBC and sheer apathy and stupidity re elect the Liberals to do more of the same. Great isnt it?

A good and brilliant friend of mine said--just after the gun control fiasco started: "I wonder what they're going to do that I don't like after I register my guns."

I wonder.

I wonder. I'll bet that they will bring in a re-registration fee which will be payable on a regular basis, say, every five years, which will become annual. Then, they'll confiscate the handguns that have been registered since the 1930's. Then... nah, that stuff would never happen, would it?

Has it struck any of you entrepreneurs that IF the Marijuana Party gets in, there will be a fortune to be made in pipes, papers and MUNCHIES? Yes, folks step right up . . . .

CBC will have to start showing commercials every two minutes--McCain's stock will go through the roof. There will be a place in the fast-food chain for stores to sell peanut butter pizza with shrimp and black olives--hold the anchovies.

This could be BIG.

Vote Marijuana Party and watch Canada relax.

I would imagine the Liberals would claim victory anyway daylia.

Quebec will not separate until they lose control of the federal government (which will likely occur within the next five to ten years)

The future of Canada is probably headed towards a banana republic within twenty years. (that is if the Americans have trouble purchasing all our businesses in which case most of Canada will join with the States)

As for the legality of what Quebec wants, well thank Trudeau for repatriating the constitution and making it possible for Quebec to plead its case with the international court of the Hague.

The alternative is a nce big civil war, which is highly unlikely because most Canadians will be glad to see them go; and will be much more concerned about the price of beer and the effect on hockey.

Yours, Aye. Dave

Gonna be a minority government, either way it goes. Then we'll have another election in 10 months, after yet another non-con vote... waste some more money on another election instead of actually doing something constructive.

At which time both the Liberals and the Conservatives (how come the Reform Party became the Conservative Party? Conservative Reform? seems like an oxymoron to me) will dump their present leaders in hopes of someone with more charisma or fashion sense who can win big for them.

Who will the new leaders be?

For the Conservatives?
Peter MacKay, of course. It's why he's hanging around in this federal party instead of going into provincial politics.

And for the Liberals?
Not John Manley, anyway. He's got all the charisma of a planter's wart.
Nope. It's gonna be that new hottie darling the Liberals recently acquired in their collection... Brenda "Windswept and Interesting" Stronach.

Then it'll be revealed that there's no real rift between her and so-called former sweetie Peter MacKay. It's all been a sordid plot to lull us into a stunned sense of apathy. Petey and BrenBren will work together to ensure our plodding system of government will be eviscerated and have themselves appointed King and Queen of Canada. "Let them eat Tim Hortons!"

You heard it here first. Don't say I didn't warn ya.
