Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary again - no comment! From: Stu Date: 27 Feb 09 - 11:47 AM It would be worth it if you could jettison your doings from the plane as you flew - I passed over Old Trafford on the way back from Dublin recently . . . |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary again - no comment! From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 28 Feb 09 - 07:39 AM Then there's shutting down the check-in desks at the airports and making everybody do it themselves online. And the blogger abuse (careful... it could happen here...) http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/pda/2009/feb/25/ryanair-socialnetworking http://www.bitterwallet.com/ryanair-staff-abuse-customer-and-then-refuse-to-apol http://www.travolution.co.uk/blog/2009/02/what-happened-when-a-blogger-d.php |
Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary again - no comment! From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 28 Feb 09 - 07:44 AM Clones - can you add "RyanAir" to this thread title? "O'Leary" is enough for those of us in Ireland, but it probably won't be clear to outsiders. |
Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary again - no comment! From: Bainbo Date: 28 Feb 09 - 10:10 AM "The look on his face when someone vomits in his lap: priceless" Kat, sadly I doubt you'll ever catch him slumming it on one of his own flights to get such an entirely appropriate come-uppance. The last time I was on a Ryanair flight (and I vowed then that it definitely would be the last time) I noticed there were no sick bags in the seat pockets. Sure enough, one unfortunate passenger needed to use one. She pressed the call button, a stewardess came down from the galley to find out was wrong, had to go back to the galley to get a sick bag, then came back down the aisle with it, by which time, obviously, it was far too late. They didn't even offer a glass of water. Another passenger had to pour out some of her own. There's no-frills and there's no-frills. |
Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary (RyanAir) again - no comment! From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 28 Feb 09 - 01:41 PM They're also quite capable of just leaving passengers stranded without being too worried about getting them back any time soon. My friend's brother got stuck in Germany, and they both vow never to fly RA again. Mother of a student of mine paid for a round-trip ticket from Cork to London, THEY cancelled the flight on short notice (not enough seats sold?) and she only found out about this after she travelled out to the airport. She had to really fight (and wait for ages) to get a refund - a move which SHE had to initiate. They didn't offer or even mention anything about refunds. And the lost flight made her miss an important appointment in London which cost her a job. RA really truly do not seem to care about the needs of their customers. (Now ex-customers.) |
Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary (RyanAir) again - no comment! From: GUEST,Alaska Date: 28 Feb 09 - 01:47 PM There used to be a Ryan Air in Alaska. It gave rise to the phrase, "Dyin' on Ryan" Count yer Blessings! |
Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary (RyanAir) again - no comment! From: John J Date: 28 Feb 09 - 05:23 PM I've not flown on his airline - his rantings were quite enough to put me off having anything to do with any business he's involved in. I would rather pay the extra (often not a lot extra) and fly with a proper airline - one that takes customer relations a little more seriously. BMI is one that springs to mind. JJ |
Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary (RyanAir) again - no comment! From: GUEST,Jim Martin Date: 28 Feb 09 - 09:21 PM I was looking at the fares for the re-introduced Aer Lingus Heathrow- Shannon service re-commencing at the end of March, they look OK. They should do well! |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary (RyanAir) again - no comment! From: MartinRyan Date: 01 Mar 09 - 11:49 AM Someone pointed out that, since there's more legroom in the toilet, you should pay the pound, lock the door and treat it as an upgrade! Regards |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Leary (RyanAir) again - no comment! From: GUEST,Seaking Date: 02 Mar 09 - 07:13 AM I doubt this was a serious suggestion - but as someone has already mentioned the man knows sure how to generate free publicity. The other low cost airline, Easyjet, provides much friendlier service, more legroom (just !) cheaper fares generally, unlimited use of toilets (when they rememmer to turn the seatbelt sign off)and better looking cabin crew - shall we say less 'Russian shot-putter'. I imagine Easyjet are benefitting from Mr O'Leary's daft comments, if they're clever they'll produce an ad along the lines of 'Free pee off every flight'... Chris |
