Ordering from Amazon-to benefit Mudcat

I want to order a particular DVD from Amazon and I thought I would benefit Mudcat at the same time. Can somebody give me the link you can use for Amazon so that Mudcat gets a cut?

I've noticed that on some threads there is an Amzon.com icon which takes you directly to the Amazon site, and from there I can navigate to the Amazon.ca site. Does this have the same effect of giving Mudcat a cut of the price?

I suggest you use the direct links already provided at the top of this page, right hand side, under the search box. Both Camsco Music and Amazon links are thoughtfully presented there.

I see a link to Amazon (but not to Camsco) at the top of the page directly above the posts. However, my query was whether Mudcat gets a cut if I use that link and buy something.

The answer is "Yes!" Dick's Camsco link is just above the Amazon links.

By the way, I discovered that the disappearing links reappeared when I reloaded the page.

The links Maeve mentioned are changing links, so it does not always display the "support the Mudcat" information. If you click the catfish on the Forum Menu page, he'll take you to the Support Page.

I forgot about that the last time I ordered from Amazon. I usually try to link there through Mudcat. They still always know it's me, but evidently they also know it's Mudcat, and toss a little in Max's guitar case. :)

I hate seeing those links. amazonUK.mudcat.org has American Elektra recordings on MP3 that we can't get in the United States. I tried to download The Many Sides of Sandy Paton, and I got this notice:

We're sorry. We could not process your order because of geographical restrictions on the product which you were attempting to purchase.

I tried to buy a hard cover picture book using the mudcat amazon link & wasn't allowed!

Maybe the supplier didn't want to post it to Australia, but there was nothing on the page to say that. I deleted the email, so can't remember the exact words, but they they didn't explain why.

So I went elsewhere, found another copy (also in US) & paid for it, only to receive a very apologetic email & refund the next day saying the bookseller couldn't find it on their shelves!!

So I gave up - temporarily.

Restrictions on where a product may be sold are frustrating. Sometimes they can be defeated by going to the used book dealers. They are supposed to comply, but if they are ignorant of the licensing areas, one might as well take advantage.
For used cds, go directly to one of the dealer sites; if you try to access through Amazon, etc., the no-no provision is applied.
