Subject: Fancy Pants (john f weldon) From: GUEST,john f weldon Date: 24 Nov 10 - 03:36 PM When my wife expressed criticism of my choice of jogging pants, a strange memory leapt to mind. Just the first verse of a song I'd heard decades before. Took me a while to realize that it came from one of Oscar Brand's "Bawdy Songs and Back Room Ballads" series. Anyway, here's my version, now an uplifting song about mature behaviour. Fancy Pants |

Subject: RE: Fancy Pants (john f weldon) From: GUEST,john f weldon Date: 25 Nov 10 - 08:22 AM I could only remember the first verse of the Jolly Tinker, which is the only verse that refers to pants. I was three-quarters finished before it dawned on me to check iTunes, which, indeed has a large collection of Oscar Brand songs, including this. He's 90, but still kicking, and has an e-mail address. I've sent him a link to my "version". |
