I tried green tea ice cream when I encountered it once. Not nasty, but kind of "why bother" to me.
There was, or is, a Canadian TV show on the Candid Camera premise, running to a greater number of shorter segments. They set up an ice cream stand at an entry point for a public beach, and passed out free cones with a "new flavor". They were scooping from a big tub of margarine under the counter, and of course watching the reactions when people took a lick, usually pitching the cones in the nearest trash can.

One of the most popular flavors in Germany is Waldmeister, whose flavor comes from the woodruff plant (galium odoratum).

VERY tasty, and hard to compare with anything available in the USA. Sort of a mild mint flavor. Very creamy and refreshing.

The strangest flavour ice cream that I have encountered is garlic flavour. At the annual Garlic festival on the Isle of Wight garlic ice cream is regularly served up, I haven't tried it because I don't see the point but they seem to like it out there. But then after drinking extra strong local beer perhaps no-one notices!

I've had both green tea and ginger ice creams. They're not bad at all.

But for a real taste treat try, if you can get it, Chocolate Shit With Chunks. That's a real flavor I once had and it was quite tasty.

The best ice cream I ever tasted was Devonshire Dairy Ice Cream with clotted cream on the top..... From Hockings Ice Cream Van on Bideford Quay in Devon UK. Yummmm. Wouldn't mind a bit of 'woman' flavoured I guess!

Alcoholic flavoured ice-cream, I tried a Grand Marnier flavoured cornet in Weston Super Mare which was really great although I suppose not the strangest I did wonder if it was more difficult to freeze ice-creams with alcoholic content.

"Nice flavours" something of a question-beg, surely, Al? There is no intrinsic reason why a savoury flavour cannot be as 'nice' as a sweet one. Whether such can fit equally well the characteristic texture and basic ingredients of ice-cream is surely the question at issue.

As I mentioned before, I did once try one ~~ I think it was black olive; but found it didn't taste of anything very much. But I don't see that should discount the possibility of a savoury ice-cream's being an agreeable gastronomic experience on principle, as your last post but one seemed to discount as a possibility, Al.

When I first moved to Dorset, I was quite excited at the idea of their being tigers running round in the wild. In fact our village has one called the Crossways Cat, and the village down the road has The Beast of Bockhampton.

However as i have seen neither beast, I am doubtful of ever seeing one of them even.

I am just as doubtful of ever finding an ice cream flavoured with Black Olives or Garlic that will ever taste even edible.
