Skyfall shows a train at Temple station, which is on the Circle and District line. But it was a Northern line train: a Tube train, not a full-size train like those that run on the Circle or District Line.

Are we not supposed to notice these things???

Good to see Albert Finney again though.

Ah, it seems that the disused Jubilee Platform at Charing Cross Station was used which carried the smaller tube trains rather than the larger type used on the Circle and District lines.

There is also some pretty compelling evidence that real secret agents don't have nearly as much expensive gadgetry as Bond does, and don't kill nearly as many people or bed nearly as many drop-dead-gorgeous women...at least not without paying them first! With this in mind, I think the public should boycott James Bond movies and picket the theatres, demanding more truth and accuracy in popular escapist entertainment.

Good idea, Little Hawk. There should be absolute realism in all fantasy films. The characters should have dandruff and burp now and then. The spy should have a large paunch and man-boobs like normal men. He should have erectile problems when bedding the cellulite-legged ladies, and his car should have an out-of-date Tax disc on the windscreen.

I like the usual stereotyping where villains are physically deformed and / or gay.

Restores my cynicism in human nature.

Still, good to see 007 back all the same.

Bonz, save yourself the anguish of ever watching the Wesley Snipes action thriller "The Contractor" (2007)

The London trains & Stations vary between Welsh and Bulgarian,
depending wherever the production could afford to shoot scene by scene...

I gave up James Bond when I watched the previous film..Casino Royale...

The gratuitous, close-up, lengthy and deeply violent scenes in it were horrifying, for me, at least.

So bye-bye, 007, for your producer/director left me very shaken, but not stirred at all.

The wrong type carriage on the line in Skyfall is rather small beer compared to the full length train puffing its way across the horizon in El Cid.
Or the cloak of a witness at a public hanging in 'Grip of the Strangler', which swings aside revealing a copy of The Daily Mirror - helps to liven up an indifferent film no end.

The actress ,Alex Kingston , playing the part of Moll Flanders saying to the captain of a 17th Century sailing ship " Aren't you wanted on the bridge ?" And the episode of "Foyle's War" featuring a Royal Navy Captain with a moustache ! And I believe that if you watch closely in "Ben Hur" you can see someone driving a mini .Worst of all though ; Americans escaping from German POW camp in "The Great Escape" ( there were none there at that time ); and Steve McQueen's motor-bike was a Triumph !!

Not surprising seeing as how the fictional character James Bond is NOT a Secret Agent (No such thing in Government Service), he is an Intelligence Officer, his sources would be termed agents.

LOL Will Fly, I'll be auditioning for the cellulite-legged lady. Actually, I imagine a spy would get by unnoticed if he closely resembled all the other people around him. If a clean-shaven Adonis in an extremely expensive and speedy car with a flash bird beside him rolled into town, people just might think. "Aha! A spy!" But if a chap in long baggy shorts, socks and sandals driving an ageing Vauxhall Corsa appeared, trailing BO and with yellow teeth, people wouldn't say anything at all.

I actually really liked the recent "Casino Royale"...liked "Quantum of Solace" less. I think Daniel Craig makes a superb James Bond. It's sheer escapism, so I don't worry about it resembling reality.

"But if a chap in long baggy shorts, socks and sandals driving an ageing Vauxhall Corsa appeared, trailing BO and with yellow teeth, people wouldn't say anything at all."

Depends where it is of course. If your guy in baggy shorts, socks and sandals turned up at the expensive casino in Shanghai ( ie where Bond nearly has a run in with a kimono lizard in the new film) then your guy might not only be very noticed but he probably wouldn't even be let in! The rest of the characters were in expensive suits etc so Bond blended in.

"I think Daniel Craig makes a superb James Bond" Being Scottish I supposed I'm supposed to say "no no Sean is the best Bond" but actually I think Daniel Craig is the best Bond there's been. I kind of thought that anyway but Skyfall has convinced me all the more. Saying that I'm not a real fan of the movies but I really did enjoy the new one.

Allan, you're right, it does depend on where the spy goes. My description would help him to fit in on the streets of Dereham for example (a small town near where I live) but not in Monte Carlo.

Chongo tells me that he is negotiating a deal to appear in the next film in the franchise. He'll play a special investigator from Africa who works alongside Bond (Daniel Craig). Bond will attempt to penetrate the heavily guarded Lichtenstein defense establishment and prevent deployment of their doomsday weapon...the dreaded Jello Bomb! Should be interesting. They're reputed to be developing a mango-flavored version of it, and that's where Chongo's expertise will prove vital.

Yes Eliza it was Dereham High School For Girls. She lived in Old Costessey on the outskirts of Norwcih though. We used to go to Norwich a lot but haven't been for years as my in-laws have moved up here to the Scottish Borders now. Norwich is a lovely ity though. We used to go to Roy's Of Wroxham shopping.

I know what you mean about the theme tune. I didn't really rate it but it did really work on the credits of the film. Songs should stand up on their own though!

This thread has suddenly taken a Norfolk turn!
Bylaugh is pronounced Beeler, Guist is pronounced Geist (as in poltergeist) Wymondham is Windem, and yes, Allan, Happisburgh is Hayesburgh, where there's a lovely red and white striped lighthouse, but the whole village is falling into the sea bit by bit. My favourite is Sparham, which the locals elongate almost indefinitely to Spaaaaaaaarham. There's a Nowhere Lane too, near Spaaaaaarham! I almost forgot the village of Fustyweed, which is just up the road from us. And Little and Great Snoring of course. Funny place, Norfolk. (Deepest apologies for this thread drift!)
