This was a song about a woman with a wooden legg. It was on an album released in the eary 60s but as he was never very well known I have not been able to obtain this LP. Can anyone help with lyrics/tune?

I know Wizz made a LP with Banjo player Pete Stanley in the late sixties.
On that they sang a song called ``The Old Maid and the Burglar´´
Could that be the one your looking for ?

I had a look as you suggested but it's not what I remember. Thanks anyway, I'll keep looking. I was speaking to someone recently and they seem to remember a Ballard of Knockin Nelly by Jake Thakray. I need to look at that.

Check "Most Unfortunate Man" (reworked "Warranty Deed") in the DT. The glass eye and wooden leg are late additions to 'lothly lady' descriptions. There are 3 early ones (17th century) in the file Scarce Songs 1 on my website, and mention of others.
