Subject: RE: From: GUEST,Blind Drunk in Blind River Date: 23 Jan 01 - 05:27 PM Okay, like, Happy Flippin' Chinese New Year, eh? It's comin' up, eh, and it's a good excuse to go out and pig out on Chinese food and get loaded! I always, like, hop on my snowmobile and head over to the nearest Chinese buffay and I eat at least 3 servings of everythibg, and then I start chugging a few beers. Last night I chugged 17 and I could stil talk. Sort of. It only took me five minutes too, eh? I bet you losers can't match that! My brother Don couldn't match it. He fell in the North Channel last night and he still isn't up to par, so he only lasted 15 and a 1/2 beer befroe he ran out of steam. He couldn't talk right, either, eh? Of course, there's nothing new about that! Hey, what is this thread about anyway, eh? It's awfully flippin long if yiou ask me. Took a flippin' age to load it. I hadda go and down 3 beer while I waited. - BDiBR |

Subject: RE: BS: Killing the thread From: Zebedee Date: 12 Nov 00 - 03:26 PM Gary, I assume you refer to A=440htz? As a folk site we surely need to stop at 'D'? LEJ, You've been here long enough to know that if you don't like a thread, don't go there. On the main thread page, this is just a link, and won't slow you in looking for what you want. Unless of course you come back to read the replies...

Subject: RE: BS: Killing the thread From: Gary T Date: 12 Nov 00 - 02:26 PM Tis only fitting that here on the Mudcat, essentially a music site, a thread be capped with message #440 (which is this one unless someone sneaked in on me here). Good night, all. |

This buffoonish thread is the main cause of this problem! For the love of God,if it mean anything to ye,abstain fvrom posting to this horrible staggering deformity of a thread! I am talking to you,Catspaw,Lepus Rex, Littlehawk,Thomas the Rhymer,Bernard,Mrs Zezam(whoever the hell you are),hesperis,Micca,Morticia,Sinsull,Margo and gary T! Shame! Shame on you! This endless wastefully tedious thread has only one redeeming post.It is this... "As a new Mudcatter I'm not taking it personal if the thread that I start begins and ends with me. I just figure that when everyone interested has posted that they simply try too keep the fresh topics rolling which in turn keeps the forum alive. It would be kind of dull to talk about the same topic for days on end with no end in sight. Variety is the spice of life or so the saying goes. I for one am having a blast and I've only posted about 5 or 6 times so far. Keep the topics rolling and keep those threads threading I guess. This site is actually theraputic for me because it helps me to vent how I'm feeling about any given topic brought up on the board. Especially with my Mom being terminally Ill with Breast Cancer this Board is very theraputic. Thanks again "Catters." for such a great forum. TNT Peace mrmoejoerisen " This innocent,well-meaning post shines among the rest of you lot like a diamond in a vat of horse dung. This well-meaning dolt has read through the whole of this monstrous abortion, and then seen fit to exhort you lot by urging "keep those threads threading!" Subject: RE: BS: Killing the thread From: Bernard Date: 24 Sep 00 - 04:23 PM I always thought the whole point of being a musician (or 'artist' of any sort) was you expressed yourself - brrummpp! - in what ever way you saw fit. If others take delight in sharing it with you, even better. Sometimes the actual music is merely the catalyst in the greater scheme of things... Gawd! I'm starting to sound as serious as 'Charisma Bypass Personified'! I'm offering a truly wonderful prize to whoever is first to guess who I mean...! |

Subject: RE: BS: Killing the thread From: Little Hawk Date: 23 Sep 00 - 11:00 PM Of all tragedies, a complete inability to see the value in spontaneous humour is probably the most tragic of all. I once had a neighbour who was utterly humourless. He liked only jazz music of a certain style whose name escapes me, and he objected to all other forms of music. He considered folk music, and all modern popular music ("modern" meaning after 1955, I guess, to him) to be beneath contempt. He also kept raising hell about the sound of my lawnmower, although he wasn't bothered by his own lawnmower's sound, strangely enough. He threatened to have me charged with disturbing the peace for mowing my lawn on Sunday one time. He made repeated demands that I should mow the lawn only at certain specific time intervals determined by him. Accordingly, I bought an ass and put the lawnmower in storage. By allowing the ass free range of the lawn, I was enabled to have the grass trimmed regularly in almost complete silence. I have since moved, but became so fond of the ass that I brought it with me to my new home. Anyone who doesn't approve of this thread is welcome to come over for a visit any old time and kiss it. |
