Are you looking for the sheet music or just a recording of the song? It is actually "The Queen of Argyll" (no "all" in the title!)

I have it as the first song on a great selection of favourites in the album "Silly Wizardry" with the group Silly Wizard, with Andy M Stewart singing it.

It is on Green Linnett Records, 1988.

But don't worry. If you don't have the chords in a key I can sing I'll just use my analog key lifter (capo) to fit the song to my voice.

As far as hearing the song I do have the album but I am not musically proficient enough to lift the chords by ear.

Oh, and Mbo, I hope the chords you have can be played by a fairly clumsy set of hands. I tend to avoid those that require my fingers to span more than three frets.

The german band SUBWAY TO SALLY recorded it on their 1994 album with a very own interpretation, a sort of middle-ages-metal-folk-rock-version.
You should try to listen to that, something different beside the pure folk thing.
Another version you can find on "Sunken Treasures" previously unreleased tracks from 1989 to 1992 from TEMPEST a folk-rock band from america

Can't fix this but I'm sure if you know the tune you can work out where to change the chords. Each chord represents a full bar in 4/4 time.

Not sure if this thread will be looked at again, but there still seems to be hardly anything in the way of treble clef sheet music for this tune on the internet... in 2019. I've looked probably three times over the last year or two... or three.

On a side note, this thread very nearly as old as me! About one year younger. Wow!

I have the Andy M. Stewart Collection songbook, which has both of the above-mentioned songs in it.
Queen of All Argyll is in the lovely key of C#m so chords used are C#m, B maj and penultimate bar of verse and chorus are G#m! It is in 2/2 time sig.

Ramblin' Rover us in C MAJOR, and 6/8 time, so no resemblance between the 2 tunes.

I think the book is hard to get now, but worth having if you like Andy's repertoire. Its ISBN no is 0-8256-9420-5

It's very common to have 6/8 and 4/4 variants of the same tune. Transpositions are irrelevant. And tunes often mutate in mode while retaining their identity.

I guess The Ramblin' Rover is trad and Andy M had it in his repertoire first, then unconsciously reshaped it into his own song.

I may be stating the obvious to a lot of you folks, but it took me a few minutes to see that C#m, B maj, and G#m (as noted as the songbook chords above) are just Am, G, and Em with capo on 4. I mean, you can play them as barre chords if you like, but I'm a lazy man with slow fingers. Thanks!

Yes, and you could put the capo anywhere you like and use those 3 simpler chords to find a key that suits your voice! I'd probably leave the capo off as Am would suit me fine!
