Hey all in the Pacific Northwest, and British Columbia...

Bill Staines is once again coming to Canada, West coast, Vancouver, BC.. AND Mayne Island, BC.... October 19/20...

For those who don't know his music,.. he's a wonderful singer/songwriter who's been performing his own music for over 30yrs......

That's great. I had a great time the two days I spent listening to him last year in Halifax.

It should be a great show paul. My wife and I saw Bill recently in Dallas at a small house concert venue. It was a great evening and I enjoyed hearing all my old Bill Staines favorites (all but one) and a few new ones.

Mayne Island has been my home for the better part of 40 yrs! How excitng it will be to have Bill on my "turf"! Hopefully he will be inspired enough to write a song about my home! How cool that would be!

I went to one of Bill's concerts here a couple weeks ago. I adore his music and esp. his live concerts. His anecdotes between songs are fun......some of the best stand-up comedy routines I've seen and he continues to hold his audiences in the palm of his hand. Hope North-west Mudcatters can go see him....

My favorite Bill Staines concert memory has to be from East Lansing, MI, back in the late 1970's, when 10 minutes into his concert there was a campus wide power outage forcing us to adjourn to Sally Rogers' house a few blocks away where we resumed the concert by candle light. Bill was unflappable then as I'm sure he is now. You'll have a wonderful evening with him, regardless of whatever powers are loose in the cosmos.

I think during Bill's career, most of what could go wrong ...has. Great title for a workshop for musicians new to performing....."What to do when the lights go out". He's got LOTS to teach. Thanks for the story Charley!!

Mag.. getting into canada is fairly straight forward.. as is getting into the US... i've just recently done both....

you just need to make sure you have proper ID.. picture, passport, birthcertificate. stuff like that......
so anyone in the bellingham area wanting to come up.. it's not a long drive into vancouver... bout 45-60 mins i think.... well worth the trip..
