Hello All ,
             Guy here. I have been haveing a wonderful visit from Bill and Lorna with great talk and music music music. Yay. I am hoping that bill will look into this thread as he gose around on his adventure to let us all know what he is up to.
             We are on the way to New Hampshire at the moment for fun and music and Aninatera's. Anyone interested in making some music at my place on New years day Bill will be here . !! My place is in the westsern part of Ct . If you want to come just pm me .. All the best for now , Guy

i find it now [ it was on the wooden cabbinet tghhing]
and favourite 1 is old pubs. = go like tghhis, [i not good at singingng, but llike this= pub was pub in olden times, blar blsr blar et c etc etc, [nice song , one of my fobaouritew sings]

and anotherfd one is called rubesnstein rembers, but he never revorderdd that one yet, he ssay 2 maybe nct year2.

Bill, Why are we just hearing about this now. If you are going to be at Guy's on Thursday I'll try to get up there for a couple of hours. I'll PM Guy for directions. Finally, a quiet moment when we can check in! Bill and Lorna are still slumbering sweetly upstairs. We have had a marvelous visit. Guy drove them all the way up to my home in rural NH on Sunday night, it was great to see the two and only, and wonderful to meet Guy and his sweet daughter Elizabeth. Good music abounded.

Yesterday (Monday) we investigated the music stores in Keene; believe it or not, Bill bought another banjo! He'll tell you about it; all I know is it was a "find" for him and he's delighted with it. We then had lunch and did some jamming at the home of a friend of mine. It was so balmy for about an hour that we ate outside in the sunshine!

Last night Bill and Lorna delighted the holiday crowd at the Nelson contra dance by dancing (Lorna) and calling (Bill). Bill's dance was OXO, named after the soup cubes. It was a dance the crowd had never done before and they loved it!

Now they're sleeping the sleep of the just plain tired before going off this morning to get a rental car and head west to bbc's.

On Friday they fly to LA for a one-day stopover before heading to warmer climes- Hawaii, OZ, NZ, Singapore.

It has been wonderful and a blessing indeed to end this year with such dear friends.
Bill said last night that he'd post from bbc's.

Bill found some great banjos and if he found one nicer then the Gretch I saw him open up at Allison's .Well ... he's sleeping on the floor when he gets back here. Hold on, thier sleeping on the floor anyway.
       I just talked to Dick G who is comming over on New Years day and he may bring along the Patons . Now if Jerry R found his way here or Barbara S on the shore that would be amazing. Now if Rye Cooder or Martin Carthy happen to be around they would be welcome as well.

Bill here in New York State with bbc, There was snow in New Hampshire and Vermont but it seems clear here. I am carrying Yorkshire tea so evrything should be OK. We are visiting Sandy and Caroline Paton tonight. Have a good New Year and I'll get back soon.

Hi, folks,

Bill & Lorna arrived here yesterday at about 4:15 pm. We had a good chat & a cup of tea, checked Mudcat, & headed out to meet Patons at a Chinese restaurant for dinner. Had a lovely time & then went back to their house for good conversation & a little music. Back to my house for the night, at about 3 am! Got up this am at about 11 & went to a local diner for what I guess we'd need to call brunch. Bill had a yearning for pancakes & American bacon! Back to the house for pictures, directions to Guy's & packing up. I sent them out at about 2:45 pm & gave Guy a call to say that they were on their way. No finer company than the Sables. Allison, Guy, & I are so pleased that you took the time to include us on your itinerary! Please come back any time! This was Bill's 4th visit w/ me, but his 1st to my new home. He approved! I'll send a few photos to Jeff for Mudcat events.

HAPY NEW YEAR !!!
         I cant beleave Bill Found that Bacon & Day with such a classie old sound.Dont get me wrong I love B&D's but this one is so warm at realy realy fits Bill to a Tea ( we drank lots of it ) . It has a very nice older calf skin head. Bill said on the Little wonder he hits the strings further back ( nearer the bridge ) but with both the Gretch and the Bacons he is playing closer to the neck. I think thats the sighn of a brighter instroment . Go have a look at the photo of this great banjo ( oh yes and three very nice people)
          Bill and I got into some wonderful music last night but I was realy touched when we pulled out the banjo-lalelys and Bill started down the George Farnby (sp?) road.Very much fun and touching as well. He had never heard the intro to "Shine on harvest moon" so I had something for him .
         Lots of great conversation and realy nice interaction with my kids .
          I'll get Bill up to my attic to give you his picture of all this as soon as hes up. Erica and Lorna are laughing away at something at the moment .More soon . All the best , Guy

Sorry I had to miss coming up New Years afternoon. Bill, if you are still there I'm sorry not to have seen you and met Lorna but hope to do both in March and April. Well I must say the Sables are the easiest guests we've ever had. We had a wonderful get together last night With Dick and Susan. Great music all around. Dick got me playing my frettless tuned very low . It must have been almost down around D but with the intervels we all use in G tuning. The instroment sounds great like that.
             I dont know wich of these two men knew more great old tunes. HEAVEN .. Also Bill had a tuner that stuck on the peghead that worked every time. I ordered one before he left I liked it so much.
             We took care of cars and bags and all that stuff this morning and they sailed off into the sunset on connecticut Limo at 12:45 with hugs all around . I dont think I can wait all the way till Witby in August to do more of this. !!! Thanks for the visit Bill and Lorna and see you real soon wink wink say no more say no more !!    <>    !!! Hey Bill, you have a good time on this trip. Remember the old grey house in Maine with Sam Pirt playing cowboy on the porch? Well, that has gone to another owner and I am in Guam now. Next time you go to Hawaii and/or Australia let me know and I'll meet you there.
