Dear, dear long suffering and patient My Guru Always Said, it is finally the weekend and I finally get a chance at the computer to write to you--after all, I don't get a grand government pension like some in this household, and I have to be out slaving away so I can afford to buy bonbons for the elves and bits of treats and little gifts and such--whine, whine, are there any crackers and cheese to go with that whine, we say around here. Anyway, I'm glad he- or she- the other mudcat at this address- is such a good secretary, and he- or she also does a fair job of dishwashing, laundry, and sweeping the odd floor, but I digress. It's just so lovely having computer time! Anyway, I like women's voices too, and there are a couple of things in that line that I like and you might too--and as her- or himself says, busy hands are happy hands, so there might be something in the making for you, too. Never despair. I really don't get to hang around the computer much, for one thing there's usually another body parked in the chair--but I will try to be a better correspondant--Love,--whoops!

Dear Santa! I'm pretty excited about that armadillo. Wonder what the cats will make of it. (Lunch?) I like to knit socks and mittens 'cause they make up fast. Of beads, mostly seed bead things. I like small crystals or stone chips or charms or molded/sculpted/relief patterned ones--I guess small is the operational word. Oh, I just bead earrings and other fairly delicate jewelry and decorative bits. I learned from a pattern to make a three-dimensional hummingbird (seed beads) about the size of the real thing--stuff like that. Enough about me already! Are you having a nice run-up to Christmas or the solstice holiday of your choice, I hope?

Dear Jenn...I'm very glad to hear from you. Now that you know I'm "on your case" so to speak, I think I can depend on you staying good, at least until your package arrives. Now, um, about that armadillo. Being Santa I'm not allowed to force an armadillo into anything about which he or she has the least reservation. I probably shouldn't have mentioned the cats. I'm not sure cats even believe in Santa Claus, or that they would see me as a valid cat-type reason to be good even if they did.

In case the armadillo backs out I will put the additional information regarding your knitting and beading to good use. However, you seem to live in an unpronounceable town. I hope I wont need to ask for directions!

A full-size 3D seed bead hummingbird sounds delightful, as do you, I must say.

Aha, your lovely Blue-Jay doesn't look as large as our Jay, so the answer is No (yet again). However, your Blue-Jay looks to be the same size as our Nuthatch, which is about the same size as a Kingfisher!

Sorry, I missed your telegram sent 24th Oct, it's only just arrived. I think the pigeon took a wrong turn at Mablethorpe (all that metal stuff in those Gas Terminals plays havoc with their built in radars).

Siamese Elephants...Mmm, got to say I sympathise with the reindeers there. Need to consider the neighbours here as well, two weeks without food or company is a long time for a fully grown beast of that 'mass' to remain content-mind you the roses in the garden would no doubt benefit fully. Liked the bit about the red velvet and silver bells though, very tempting and has a certain ring to it.

Where's this Abitration place then ? Looked up Multimap and it's not listed. Anywhere near Ipswich ??

The elves have come up trumps - seems they've made their own CD, which they reckon has some "good" harmony singing on it. Well, we do live in a country famed for it, but I wouldn't rely to much on that. I've got them out now, scouring the local markets for items of "craft" to add to your pile of pressies. Bearing in mind that the locals are mainly reknown for not coming through on the deal, I hope you're good at handling disappointments. Still, we'll do what we can.

Actually, it's been raining quite a bit lately, for here and there are no cactuses at all in our yard, thank goodness--I have sort of a magnetic attraction for the prickles. No crocuses, either. Dear, Dearest Santa & Partner, such a pleasure to hear from you although so far your hints have not assisted in my search. I must be the Dumbest Santee ever, I just know that I'll never, ever guess your name. I will have to continue with my research & digging & hope that one day you'll give me a Hint big enough to open my eyes... (is your profile up to date????)

As for colours I suppose that all shades of purple are wonderful & blue & green are also really good colours. I'll admit to having a complete hatred of the colour Red (apologies to our own dear Mr Red) and am not keen on Orange or Yellow either - except rainbows are fabulous!! Most of my jewellery is currently in silver-tone as my favourite dressing-up pendant is a beautiful rainbow moonstone. Choosing earrings for work is a problem/joy I face daily!

BTW, Just love the sound of 'stitch & bitch evenings' *huge smile*
