As just any one with a brain 'round this joint knows, Amos has valiantly been pulling Bush's covers on a daily basis for some time now and, well, the thread is closing in on the big "1000" so I asked Amos if he would send a ltter of appreciatio to the 1000th person to post to this thread and he said, "Ahhhh, yeah sure, I'm tired and going to bed" which I interprted to meaning that the 100th person posting to his thread will indeed recieve a suitable fir framing letter of appreciation from Amos... So, kids. lets get busy...

Oh, I forgot to tell ya'. Amos said that if MG pulls this heat off then rather than a letter of appreciation, Martin will be getting a "Bite Me" coupon and a gift certificate to a local lobotomy clinic...

I have discussed thus with Amos in detail and this is purdy much the deal, unless of course we gotta reload if something unexpected should occur....

I am going for it with a big FUCK YOU AMOS as the 1000th post.

If I don't make it, well fuck you anyway.

this guy ought to add up the time he spent on this cluster-fuck of a thread instead of hanging out with his wife.

Ooops, sorry if any of you nuns and birka-heads were offended.

Now Bobert, Bobert, don't be saying things that ain't so. I never did say those unkind words you accuse me of about my rasty old buddy Martin.

I think he has used the word "cluster fuck" about four times in the last thirty minutes, though. Can we chip and buy this boy a Thesaurus? If not a Thesaurus, let's get him a Tyrannosaurus.

Heck, I'm not offended, Martin. But, with the time you spend 'round the Catbox, Iz a little concerned about Mrs. G.....

Okay, not overly concerned 'cause Iz sur you be the man, Marty.

Right?

An don't even think about pullin' that Martinesque "Well, Bobert, your wife can tell ya..." crap 'cause she thinks yer a creep but , hey, I keep trying to tell her that yer really okay... But she isn't buyin' it....

I am gonna say this once:

You two actually LIKE each other. If you'd both talk music and forget the politics, what a beautiful world it would be. I have sat back in awe of you both for a long time now. Never jumping in on one side or the other, because I like both of you very much--as people. I have talked with Martin on a number of occasions about politics and music. He is thoughtful and smart. Amso, you helped me with your encouragement and I'll never forget that. The specifics are not important here, but this is:

Third man in always catches the s#it when it hits the fan, but guys, we ain't never gonna have a better chance for peace than right now.

Martin, my friend, here is what Amos posted on the "Purist" thread, and I quote--well, copy and paste then add quotation marks:

Martin, I agree with you completely. Nothing irritates me more than having a good feast of spontaneous music interrupted by someone who has to have the details match their version. I understand that you were addressing a different definition of "purist" than was being used originally in this thread.
I don't understand it, and I really enjoy playing with others who feel as I do.
P'raps we should boogie down together sometime and see what comes out. You might be surprised what a good liberal can do bending them strings. LOL!:"

If that ain't an olive branch, I don't know what one is then.

Amos, you too are a friend, and I am indebted to your kindness and concern. It meant lots to me at the time and it still does.

I never miss a post by either of you guys if I can help it because I enjoy what you both have to say--except when you say it to each other. I know you two will NEVER agree about President Bush. The country is 50-50 to do with him and one would expect that people here would be too. But we have the opportunity at this time to effect change.

Martin, I have used more swear words than you and my friends told me to give it up. I am trying. (Mostly it helps when I avoid the political threads. I am not suggesting you do, because I know you are a strong supporter of both the USA and its elected President.)

Amos, this is not a marriage ceremony. I am just hoping that you and Martin could agree to disagree, shake hands (not hug) and then I can read either of your posts without worrying I am going to see people I like going at each other.

Third man in always catches the s#it when it hits the fan, but guys, we ain't never gonna have a better chance for peace than right now.

What do you two say to that?

Yeah, I'm all for peace, man; peace with a modicum of dignity, and integrity, and all that good stuff. A cease-fire? Sure, you bet.

Let me know.

LOL, susu's hubby. Very clever!

I did see the post in the purist thread and then saw a few others after it that were a 180.

Nonetheless, I am willing to see how a quiet period will go. At least with Amos....................for now.

Yes! Take away Amos' thesaurus and make him send it to Martin. That would be perfect. A mudcat state of perfect balance, for a brief arrant moment.

All this sweetness and light and fellowship is about to make me puke! ;^)

As some of you may have noticed, I usually disagree with MG on politics, but I *love* the expression "clusterfuck" and I am greatly pleased to see it suddenly being used so copiously...

Yas, "clusterfuck" is an excellent word. "Mongolian clusterfuck" is even more descriptive, particularly when applied to the traffic in Atlanta, Georgia or Tampa, Florida. While I'm sure a genuine Mongolian might be offended by having the name of his ethnic group used in such a manner, I don't personally know any Mongolians, so fuck 'em.

You should hang arounf my brother, who is nuthin' like me, for a day 'er two and not only would you never want to hear "cluster***k" of "***k" either for that matter. The guy can't make a sentence without one or the other... And he owns a reals estate company so he ain't like some redneck bum, 'er nuthin'...

My lawyer? Same way... I wonder if he ever worries that he will revert while litigating...

I have a friend who is a product-liability lawyer for people damaged by bad drugs or other products; and she was deposing a doctor who had hired out for the defense. She KNEW the guy was lying and contradicting earlier testimony that he had given on another case she happened to know about. She got madder and madder art him and she was thinking to herself he was being nothing but a f***ing whore!! It upset her deeply the more she thought about what a f***ing whore he was being.

She finally got her turn to cross-question him and by that time she was so mad at his dishonorable, money-grubbing approach that she lost track of whether she THOUGHT he was a f**ing whore, or had actually CALLED him on the record a f***ing whore.

She wandered around for two days worrying about it, calling the court recorders to get them to rush her the copy of the transcript so she could find out whether she had in fact called a witness a f***ing whore in public records. She was mortified with worry about it.

She was greatly relieved when the record came to read that what she had called him was a whore, but never a f***ing whore.

Whew....that was close!!!
