Good to hear he is doing so well, and I hope he does get home next week. With the move these days toward "home recuperation", make sure they don't release him too soon...he's kinda a big guy for you to be doing all of that personal care stuff yourself.

Thanks for the update. We know Mike's gonna make it home but that doesn't make the process of waiting much easier. I can easily imagine the other projects in your life piling up, and hopefully some local kind friends are taking care of Thanksgiving.

Do you need a Mudcat team to fly in and do a clean sweep of the house before Mike arrives? He probably will be just happy to escape the "institutional care."

As folks have said, do try to take care of yourself.

Wound vac, manly parts, home on Monday I just deleated what I started to write, I ain't touching that with nut-tings. It's great that he's up to 99% he was writing some real gems at only 65% before, can't wait for what's in store. If he keeps it up "Doc will I be able to play the fiddle after this" who knows what he'll be playing when he's up to it after the mend.
Really, I'm tickled to hear he's headinng for home.

Looks like they're going to attach a wound vac to his, yep, his manly parts. The vac is doing a fantastic job on the stomach where they had to open him up again. So they want to do another, "down there". We should get him home Monday? If the Vac works. His mind is at 99%, can't ask for more than that. Hell, I probably only had 95 before. I can't tell you all how I feel, getting him back. That was as close as I ever want to come again.

Had another surgery today. Came thru great. Sewed him back together and NO, we don't get to call him lefty. They've got something called a VAC hooked up to his abdominal wound. They cut a filter/sponge to fit, then make it airtight and hook up a vac. This only gets changed Mon, Wed, Fri. Less discomfort for Mike than the twice daily bandage changing. This sucks out any drainage and quickens the healing process. He's talking coming home sometime next week. Whee. Can't wait to get my man home.
Thank you for refreshing this thread. I came on yesterday to post and it was gone. :( Of course I didn't know how to find it. Anyway, I only saw Mike for a couple of minutes today. I took a day off and went to the movies, 3 actually.
