This reminds me of a similar ditty called Christmas in the Mess Hall, where the Commander comes 'round to make his Christmas inspection (in some services it is also the custom for the officers and senior NCOs to serve Christmas Dinner to the troops.) The lyrics are in Kiss me Goodnight Sergeant Major, which I don't happen to have handy. They end up with a young corporal suggesting where the CO can stick his Merry Christmas, if memory serves.
