Checking refs, I may be mistaken about Emus. The flock of birds that I remember were as described, but might have been a different flightless bird- But they were at least 3 feet taller than I was at the time- ( at about age 30). And two sets of 8 ft. high wire fences did NOT make me feel safe. And I have eaten emu. Not like chicken at all.
