MAV,

I opened this thread, and have been lurking, reading all the vitriol in stark amazement.

Civility has been in short supply among the loving liberals here since the change in the White House: This is one of the reasons, I guess, I've not read any of your posts; I've stayed out of the Bushwacked threads, since the title itself indicated to me they would be little more than a series of self-congratulatory "liberal" ways to describe GWB in more and more demeaning terms. Fascism wears many faces, after all. I tend to believe that its basic tenent is "If you don't agree with my political outlook, you should be personally attacked, ostracized and dehumanized and then we'll getcha."

(Let me hasten to add, here, that I'm not a Republican. I'm not a Democrat. I've never voted a straight ticket in my life. I'm not a conservative; I'm not a liberal. I like to think I'm an Independent and can make up my own mind about any given issue on its merits; and I am leery in the extreme of the Tyranny of the Majority. What's good for California, in my book, may not be the answer in Hutchison, Kansas.)

Your musical credentials are impressive. I hope you'll be paying attention to the Lyric Request and Tune Request threads so you can help others here in their searches.

Anyway, welcome to the Mudcat.

Sarah (in favor of diversity)
