Pinch Punch first of the month - in England anyway.

Did anyone get any trick or treaters?

I nearly ran over a witch's hat sticking up in the middle of the road. It was really scary - It was like the wicked witch of Knebworth was in the tarmac below and she has a big green face and hooked nose. Too spooked for bed now.

Crikey - so many questions - Is Unicorn man going through the change?

Nice joke PA - I did chuckle

This firework thing for Sunday is getting very worrying

I'd better wear me best asbestos underwear, just in case

It's dark here in Biggleswade - so much for global warming

I notice the Unicorn Man's log in has reverted back to Martin from Barton in all this Mudcat update palava.

Then he was a Doctor Death and then changed to a Unicorn Man.

Will he be looking even younger?

Will he refresh his cookie and make my words a lie?

fuffy bwack wabbit, or one like that widdle bwown one over there?"

The little girl blushes, rocks back on her heels, puts her hands on
her knees, leans forward and whispers, " I don't wealy fink my pyfon

Sorry Ross, its the best I can do today !! Blame the boss.

Its the music, words and all that one has in front of one when one sings or plays in public, thats the score.

Special dispensation granted by your host as

You are to be our rookie project autumn 2006

I'll take that as a 'yes' then, you will be scheduled to appear during the 2nd half to huge applause just prior to the main act, after which you will resume normal responsibilities as 'Clap leader'

Hi John - thank you for the invite. I am not sure yet, though I have heard that you have arranged for fireworks to be let off throughout the country to celebrate Barton coming to St Albans. Wow.

When I sing at Redbourn or at the Old Blue Anchor, they let me have the music in sight as I am old and can't remember all the chord sequences. I didn't think that was allowed at St Albans??

What's the score?

Catherine Wheel

we had dave ellis and Boo last night, loverley music, plus a hint of percussion, most tasteful, as music ought to be, blues, jazz influences etc

Then noone wanted to leave so I left a good dozen in the room as I made my leave.

Good luck on Wednesday

We had a venue like that in St Albans once, because it was free people werent used to the etiquette of a folk gig, but eventually we didnt even have to turn up the P A and we had stopped the smoking!! It took 4 years

So glad you had a good evening and we are so pleased for George and all that he is doing and has achieved, long may it continue.

Hi breezy - yes, he had a neat little 'PA in a briefcase' (Peavey I think). Most of the time it was up to the job for the size of the venue, even with the background noise - mostly from the other bar, although occasionally people came into the bar where we were and started talking loudly as if George wasn't there. Bl**dy rude, but b*gg*r all you can do about it in that type of setting. In spite of that, those of us who went to see George had a great evening (I hope I can speak for the others there) and I have a feeling George enjoyed himself too - he ceratinly gave that impression(although I wouldn't like to speak for him of course).

I was there - arrived late and left promptly - all M25d out.

What a day's travelling.
Down the A10, couldn't get on M25, down to North Circular, up M11, thought I was going north to Cambridge and turned round - ended up back on North Circular. Blackwell tunnel south shut. Finally found the A13 and then over bridge to sunny Kent.

Then coming back traffic was absolutely chocka from A21 to Dartford tunnel. I learnt how to put the clock back in my car, caught up with the world news on the radio and made 3 phone calls.

In all my years travelling this route, it has never been so bad. And all on George's night!

If you read this - thanks for listening - nobody else will.

Moanie Minnie

It was good to see Ross at George's gig last night - were the rest of you the ones in the other bar trying to drown him out? ;-)

Anyhow, it was a cracking gig - not often you get a chance to see an artist of George's calibre free of charge (I still seem to have spent all my money on food, drink and a CD though) ;-)

What kind of a vehicle do you have PA? (Don't be too technical - red/blue/very big/big will do me.)

Sounds like you need an armoured car with guns to fire at him.

It's a sunny morning here and I'm off round the M25 to see my Dad in Kent. I should get back for the Bull outing to the Bucks Head in Little Wymondley tonight.

Road rage only on Fridays? I have it every morning from a lovelly gentleman in a very large BMW. We meet on a single track lane and he point blank refuses to reverse back into a space even if he's the nearest, last week I couldn't go back cos the postman was delivering and had left his door open on his van, so we had to wait for the postman to return and back up. Every morning he has his window down hurling abuse at me and shaking his fist, but I just smile. One morning he screamed that the lane was too small for my vehicle. He must be so stressed when he gets to work if thats how he starts his day. Mates think I should take it more seriously, but hey ho he's got to catch me first.

Thats the end of the serious bit, one of our engineers has just tried to get to a door without opening it first. The whole office is roaring with laughter !!

I spread meself around all the natural disaster areas

It's dead deer in Woburn on Thursday, ecological pollution from the Jordans Mill on Tuesdays, road rage friday - it seems trouble follows me around - I can't understand why

I live near Luton - evidently was worthy of it's very own special nuclear bomb from Russia; because it used to produce all the UK's ball bearing requirements - tanks and fings can't work without them

Luton no longer makes anything apart from goals

I can't say I cherish sharing clothes with the Queen - she is a public servant after all

How close do you work to it on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays? Does it get closer or further away. How interesting, a portable oil depot.

Would the Queen's support fit you?

I can just see the sign on the M1

    'Secret NATO HQ
    - please don't look as you go past
    - we're not really here
    - its a NatWest money store really'

Hi PA - yeah I know all about the Buncefield thingy

I was there

I work three miles away on Mondays and Wednesday

I had to watch the flames licking the horizon as I measured me do dahs

I was expecting to see an oil tank suddenly fly across the sky

And I didn't get a letter from the Queen offering her support and good wishes - do you think she knows?

We have the secret headquarters of NATO near Watford - it has a sign and everything

Yep it was the secret Natwest giant money box at Tamworth, you know the one that nobody knew anything about - except everyone who worked on the industrial estate. They rammed the wall with a skip lorry and drove straight in. They obviously used very strong bricks for that one. The only police cars you see flying about here are the ones just going off duty.

How very exotic Pelicans in Hyde Park we only have shopping trollies in our ponds.

I have a book on my dest about the Bunceford Oil Terminal fire last year. The pictures are amazing, have you all seen a copy, well worth getting.

My husband has been away for three days on a cider making course. Very worrying!

Thats all the news from sunny Worcestershire - what I've seen of it this week. The M5 was scary, but they're making progress with the A30 bye pass.
