I'm feeling a little squidish myself talking about cepholapods tentacles...as a matter of fact I am pretty sure that is an actual condition we played a benefit for last year...tragic really...little children- stricken with cepholapods tentacles...

I think MMario stuffed them in the side of the barbecue grill to stop a draft. You'll have to make do with that skimpy towel.

Then why bother the squid to begin with? Just leave him in the aquarium and throw the lettuce and apricot goo at people and drink your wine.

glaze the squid with the apricot jam and then wrap with the lettuce; serve chilled with a good white wine. (proper way to eat apricot glazed squid lettuce rolls is to toss the roll at someone and drink the wine. repeat.)

Cephalopods are not struck on lettuce cos it is like a kick in the tentacles to a carnivorous jet propelled beast.
It makes them ill, and there's not a lot you can do on sick squid.
Giok

I am horribly late I know, but I just got back from baking (and by that I mean it in the global warming warning kind of way) at a 4 day (mostly) dulcimer festival, in which we tent camped, and I could really use copious quantities of anything iced & alcoholic (tiny umbrella optional). I stopped on my way and picked up some premium vanilla ice cream, hand-picked, homegrown strawberries and a crate of containers of whipped cream. What you do with the individual components is totally up to you...

no, I think that's a newt swimming in it. Maybe an Axolotl; in fact, given the fluid it is swimming in, probably an Axolotl of the Alcohol Axolotl variety (Ambystoma Deleriumtremons)

I don't know how you guys can eat that heavy stuff when it's sooo hot. (and if you want to know why it's sooo hot, go see Al Gore's movie ...)

I took homegrown blueberries to a potluck on Saturday. Once I did that and one kid scarfed them all. I had to warn his mother what can happen, but I guess all you Moms know.

water, water. plain cold water. nothin' like it ahhh!

Ahhhh.... pass me over that Long Island Iced tea.... I did a concert this lunchtime in 30+ degree heat where we sang about 85% of the Mozart Requiem in 30 minutes, to a piano we could barely hear and all wearing black.... It was a good gig, but I could have done without the mad panic dash back to the train to get back home for another concert at Limpit's school, that started at 2.00.

Now it's about 18+ degrees and too hot to sleep. I'm figuring that enough LIITs will cool me down and knock me out for the night.

Hand 'em over Barkeep!

Hummm, looks like I am late coming to the outdoor party... glad to see ya'all here.

I brought my mom's world famous potato salad. This version's got the black olives... my favorite! Sorry I can't eat with you, on a major diet, so I'll just sit here drinking water and watch all of you eat. Every so often, I'll ask how what you're eating tastes so I can live vicariously through you. :)

Even though late to the BBQ..(but bringing some lovely beer from Dogfish Head as my contribution)...I can solve one problem...Liz allowed as how..." I don't eat things that have more limbs than I do.." The trick is, you confront the creature with the excess appendages and warn it about your intentions. It will then be converted into the proper configuration.....

what? You doubt?
