Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: J-boy Date: 19 Jan 11 - 11:23 PM No offense to you or your daughters olddude but I wish the NFL didn't have cheerleaders at all. I hate the way they are presented on television as sex objects and nothing more. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 19 Jan 11 - 10:53 PM They were with the Bills rap. One short stint with the Pats by my oldest but her work load was too heavy to continue when she moved to Boston. I am glad they don't do that anymore. never had anything but kindness from the players, the fans ... another story entirely ... I came close to getting thrown out of several games. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Raptor Date: 19 Jan 11 - 09:17 PM olddude Which team were your daughters cheering for? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 19 Jan 11 - 05:22 PM Urlacher is still great because he just has that innate sense and the intelligence it takes to play what I call free safety. Gosh... so many other names come to mind besides Dick and Brian... first one is Ronnie Lott... man he was fun to watch. Tight ends going over the middle had tight ends! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 19 Jan 11 - 05:07 PM He is still playing great, he may not completely disrupt an offense as he did in the past but he still has it. However Green Bay offense is really churning and now they have a running game again. It should be a great game for sure |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 19 Jan 11 - 05:03 PM I LOVE watching Urlacher but here's DA BEAR! I was always amazed at how he got away with late hits on guys already down. It was as if even the refs feared him. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 19 Jan 11 - 04:56 PM I forgot about that Gary ... wow |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 19 Jan 11 - 03:56 PM Last I heard he was a spokesman for a a male enhancement product. But, after all those concussions, I wonder if he can remember what to... |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 19 Jan 11 - 03:25 PM Whatever happened to McMahon ... the QB ... after he retired he really retired .. he was quite the character .. never hear about him or the fridge anymore |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 19 Jan 11 - 03:17 PM Urlacher? (I know...) The Fridge? Member that time he picked up the back off the pile and carried him into the end zone? Why wasn't that a touchdown? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 19 Jan 11 - 03:15 PM By the way, my oldest was in 3 super bowls. It was great to see her on the national stage and her dad was right there watching. Didn't care a crap about the game was there for my daughter. I sure hope this year is a great game, they have been getting better lately. In the past they were not very good games. Lately they have been very exciting games to watch. Anyone know who is favored in the GB Bears game, first I saw GB by 3 then I saw Bears by 4 |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 19 Jan 11 - 03:00 PM I have daughters, and two of them were NFL cheerleaders, and not once did they ever have any actions by any players that were inappropriate over the 10 year period. I also know what Ben does for sick kids. Things are not always as they seem on the TV or internet. It is easy to always believe the bad without knowing the circumstances or the accuser. Now back to the game, Steelers will hopefully be in the SB ... and I sure hope Green Bay beats the tar out of the bears ... never liked that team but I did like some of the players in the past (especially Walter Payton) |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 19 Jan 11 - 12:25 PM They stand a good chance Dave. Ya gotta love their defense. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 19 Jan 11 - 12:14 PM Hey, there must be fans of other teams in Ohio. What about the Canton Bulldogs, Akron Pros and Oorang Indians? And will the Decatur Staleys go all the way this year? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Bobert Date: 18 Jan 11 - 08:00 PM Actually, I have a confession... Th4 Steelers were never "my Steelers"... MY late wife, Judy, grew up in Youngstown, Ohio & turned me into a Browns fan... Now in Ohio yer either a Steelers fan or a Browns fan but me being a Virginia boy kinda liked 'um both... That way when I went to Ohio with her I wouldn't piss off anyone too bad... Pure survival instincts... That took... Go Steelers!!! B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 18 Jan 11 - 06:39 PM Everyone is talking here. Why were Welker, Branch, Gronkowski... benched? Was Welker disciplined???? Edelman was not sent in to replace Welker??? That's just the tip of the iceburg. The consensus is that the whole thing is fixed. Seriously, that's what Eddy The Bum 2 and even the guys at my Sobey's food court are saying and those guys are experts. Now, I don't frequent Tim's so I haven't got conclusive research but it sounds like The Belly may be gettin "fat". |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Raptor Date: 18 Jan 11 - 03:25 PM I guess we agree to disagree But a decent young man? Really? I guess none of you have daughters. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 18 Jan 11 - 09:42 AM by the way, someone who is raped calls the police immediately. They don't usually call their lawyer and ask for a quick cash settlement under the table to keep it quiet ... good grief.. I wasn't there but that is my take |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 18 Jan 11 - 09:36 AM Big Ben is a very good decent person, like many other guys sometime he thinks not with his brain but other body parts. He was setup by others who just wanted quick cash, he was stupid and showed poor judgment but he is no abuser of any type to any one. He is young guy with money and it played out just like Jack said. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Jack the Sailor Date: 17 Jan 11 - 05:44 PM I think it will be Steelers/Packers They both seem to have better leadership and more playoff experience than their opposition. >>Or indicating how tons of money can pay off victims, but they suspended him for 4 games without protest. When these players beat thier wives, torture dogs, or comitt sexual assult without being kicked out of the game it cheepens the game. This is the best game in the world and the players should not be criminals. <<< No and no. Obviously, if there had been payoffs, one of the accusers would not be suing. These men are not competing for Miss America, they are not "spokesmodels" They throw balls, catch balls, run with balls and beat the living crap out of each other. What they do off the field has no bearing on that. I think that Ben was an irresponsible drinker with poor judgment, but I don't think he is a rapist. The girls come up to him, bat their eyes and flirt cause he has 2 Superbowl rings and a 103 million dollar contract. He takes a liberty. They see dollar signs and cry "rape." Stupid? Yes. Rape? No. Hopefully, missing quarter of this regular season has taught him a lesson. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 17 Jan 11 - 12:15 PM Rap... "alegations"... innocent until PROVEN guilty. I thought he had been proven guilty but I was wrong. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Lonesome EJ Date: 17 Jan 11 - 12:02 PM Wow. All of the teams I thought would be serious Bowl candidates are out of the picture. I have NO confidence in Sanchez as a QB, but Jets defense and run game may get them past the Steelers. I see the winner coming out of the NFC, and I think it will be the Bears. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Raptor Date: 17 Jan 11 - 08:13 AM no one thought the Jets would win |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Raptor Date: 17 Jan 11 - 08:10 AM Gnu what misconduct do you think they meant? Do you think that the THREE different sexual assault alegations were a coinsidence? When these players beat thier wives, torture dogs, or comitt sexual assult without being kicked out of the game it cheepens the game. This is the best game in the world and the players should not be criminals. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Raptor Date: 17 Jan 11 - 08:04 AM I didn't think the Jets would do it, the Pats have been more consistent with thier wins But "On any given sunday..." |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: J-boy Date: 16 Jan 11 - 10:05 PM Pains me to say it but the better team won tonight. The jets d blanketed our recievers and knocked Brady around like a dog playing with a chewtoy. How was your pizza gnu? Mine had too much sauce. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Bobert Date: 16 Jan 11 - 09:19 PM I loved seein' the Jets knock off Tom Brady and his Pats... Like Ol'ster, I'm kinda worried about my Steelers but they'll prolly come thru just fine... Super Bowl prediction: Steelers 24, Packers 21... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 16 Jan 11 - 07:48 PM Well we gotta give the Jets defense the kudo's they played one hell of a game for sure ... got me worried now against my Steelers |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 16 Jan 11 - 07:46 PM Sour grapes, yes, but, how do you get to 14 and 2 and then essentially bench Welker and Branch for the first half? Anyway, there it is. I shall now cheer for ??? Although, I like to watch the bears defense... #54 is one of my favs of all time. I must think this over. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 16 Jan 11 - 06:44 PM Apparently, Billy Bob is not paying attention to my posts here at The Café. This is gettin outta hand. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 16 Jan 11 - 06:17 PM They suspended him for misconduct... not for rape. He is innocent until proven guilty. Your comment that victims were paid off is a tad too much. In any case, this thread is about the games on the go. And the Pats are in shit. That punt ruse was ALMOST a real good idea. But, I still expect them to pull it out of the fire. Just watch what happens in the second half when The Belly brings in Welker AND Edleman at the same time. And then fires to Branch in the long game. <;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 16 Jan 11 - 05:52 PM That's why even though I know so many of the players in this game .. my heart is still Pittsburgh ...also since I was a Pennsylvania boy ... Green Bay and the Steelers (my two favorite teams) head to head in the SB would be my dream game |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Raptor Date: 16 Jan 11 - 05:50 PM Gnu "I didn't think any criminal charges had been filed, indicating a lack of evidence in both cases" Or indicating how tons of money can pay off victims, but they suspended him for 4 games without protest. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 16 Jan 11 - 05:49 PM No way the Jets will stay in this game if their QB keeps overthrowing wide open receivers ... brought up 4th and 1 and they had to punt ... that receiver was wide open and he keeps over throwing them. Big Ben won't do that ... will be interesting whoever plays the Steelers |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Raptor Date: 16 Jan 11 - 05:47 PM The videotaping cheaters go head to head. This game is brought to you in fuji colour! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 16 Jan 11 - 05:30 PM Jets look like they came to play, if Sanchez had been on the mark and not over thrown so many passes it could be worse right now ... Pats 3 Jets 7 Defense needs to step up |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 16 Jan 11 - 02:53 PM can't wait for the second game that is the one I really care about |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 16 Jan 11 - 02:50 PM Anything can happen in the second half... I went for a walk in the coooold fresh air before the half ended. I am looking forward to the next game. Got my long johns on, my big football slippers and my Pats hoody ready and I will turn down the heat in the house, crack a Bud and shove the pizza in the oven. Better than being in the stands. I hear the game is back on. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 16 Jan 11 - 02:04 PM Like I said gnu the seahawks don't belong in the playoff's LOL holy cow 21 zip so far ... a route ... ok so I was wrong ... good grief I hoped to watch a better game so far the bears are clobbering them |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 16 Jan 11 - 01:22 PM They got burned early... how the fuck do you just run by Malloy? I'll bet he'd rather be playing in the next game. >;-) Buddy really took a knock in the noggin eh? Poor bugger. I hope he's okay. I saw the ref call for the stretcher by signalling neck injury. I hear the game is on again....... |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 16 Jan 11 - 11:46 AM Hey GNU watch out for the Seahawks, forget the regular season record those guys under Pete C are for real I think. My guess, against all the odd they will take care of the Bears today |
