Hey! King Arthur! Yez got yer Guinivere - what more can a man ask for as a good behaviour Reward, eh?

Jest leave them elfettes alone, anyway. They're proper li'l bunny boilers - more trouble than they're worth.

(If you want a party, those Sugar Plum Fairies are the girls yer lookin' for.)

No snaps, thanks. The Big Guy's got a crack-down on that kinda stuff. Being rumbled by the Vice Squad wouldn't look too good ...

Some Elfin poetry, with much more to come, due to Santa's perverse wage scale for his help:

I give only glad greetings to Skarpi
After all, I'm an elf, not a harpy
My job's to find gifts
That will give folk's souls lifts,
But will not send them into Shock Tharpy....

                                           -Robert Frostbite

That's the best I can do for beginners, given the inherent rhymability of your name. You don't make it easy on me....

Is it VERY cold where you live? Do you REALLY want a stocking full of coal? Deck of 'cards', indeed! 'For a friend', indeed!

This is the only deck of cards I would ever allow!

For your repentance, you should memorise this lesson!

Yesssssssssss, I've got a Santa...!!!!!! Yipheeeeeeeeeeee!!

Trophy, yes, well... you see... some elves.. uhm... one elf in particular.. got a little out of hand last year. He was all over the place, that 'un. Ask Megan L, if you want the whole story

*shuffles feet

But still, it got me the trophy.

However, I promise to be good from now and till Christmas, scout's honour. Then I just hope you'll accept my definition of the word 'good'..

Btw, if it's not too late I'd like to add to my wish list. Can I have a pair of new feet, please? I've been out dancing, and my feet are killing me..!

Goodnight, Santa dear, yours obediently,

Bente

OOOOooooh Santa! You ARE there!
I live NEAR Dartymoor, but I ACTUALLY live in CORNWALL - the post office see it as a bit of sport to make me have a Devon postal address! I can see Dartymoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moor from my garden -and of course, the Atlantic.
As it says in the hints, I am easily pleased!
So if its a bundle of sticks for the fire, I'll be happy - and warm ;0)
So glad you are out there!
Now I have some santa-ing to do myself............................
Cheers, Lucy

Yes, indeedy, you have a Secret Santa who, while silent til now, has been busy scurrying hither and anon (both of which needed visas) to compile a pile o' goodies for you.

All of which I hope will be purrrr-fect.

And maybe even in time for the end of December shindig.

Well madam, I hope that you have been suitably well behaved this year as I don't really want to have coal dust all over the suit when I deliver to your house.

The elves are out in full force, although we have been told that you have enough nuns, penguins and religious figures to fill a large store, so maybe we'll look for something different for you this year.

The world is our oyster (do you like oysters?)so we should be able to find some suitable gifts for you.

Watch this space.

Blue historical fiction - that sounds interesting! The historical bit would be there along with racy sex scenes....

I'm afraid even turkey treats are off limits to my dog Missie. Too much protein and probably too much salt. Her diet now really is very bland and boring - special prescription food with a few bits of fruit, cheerios, or a little white bread with peanut butter as an occasional treat. But, she's doing pretty well now that they got the kidney disease under control. She's got a lot of energy for an old girl!

I hadn't heard that song about Whitby Harbour...is that where the famous folk festival is held?

Ho-ho-ho.. how many do I play with here?

Secsy, Dear (or should I say 'Dear Sexy'?) your mind seems to be working just like mine - skip the bits that are of no interest - like a stray 'and' - and pounce with pin-point precision on the bits that make you tick. Blue historical fiction, indeed.. This is blue, it's historical fiction and it's also an excellent read. At the moment I'm reading about Whitby. Which reminds me... Lady Mary, do you know the song about Old Whitby Harbour? Lovely song and a favourite of mine.

Leadfingers, are you standing in for Mary or just leaping like a salmon to the fly? :o))

OOh I'm a Grand Mistress now am I?

The Grand Mistress, she say YES!

Maryrrf's Santa - and I quote: "I also like blue and historical fiction."

So what is 'blue fiction'..? is it naughty? Or is it more mundane and is really just historical fiction in blue covers?

When I worked in a little local library, we had a clientele with an average age of 72, the majority of whom were ladies. If I'd had a pound for every one who came in and asked for a book they'd had last year describing it 'with a lady in a long blue dress on the cover', I'd've been able to retire 15 years ago.

As for Limpits Santa - she's turning into a teenager very very quickly - she spent 3 hours in the bath yesterday!

Mary, I'm glad to hear your old girl is still going strong at almost 16. What sorts of treats can she eat without coming to any harm, would, say, turkey be on her allowed list?

Funnily enough we seem to have quite a few things in common. I also like blue and historical fiction. And I'm fond of Banjo Patterson, although I only know a few of his poems-turned-into-songs. And I'm an animal lover, too, and a dog owner.

Now I think I should go and check on those elves..
