Alice, your story is the first time I've ever heard of a Fortune cookies fortune be so "right on target" as far as the sugar in the coffee goes...

Gosh I don't know, Mary Kate, usually it takes me 3 or 4 dates just to get up the nerve to play them my "Bertoldt Brecht sings from the Three Penny Opera" records. 'course by then they don't want to get anywhere near the bedroom!

Well adding "in bed" the message in Alice's story certainly does put a twist on it! I can see potential for a variety of uses......like adding "in bed" to thread titles too! Hmmm..................

Mary Kate and all, here is my true life story about Fortune Cookies.

In about 1977, I visited my parents along with my boyfriend of the time. We all went out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant. My friend always put four spoons of sugar in his coffee. We were drinking coffee instead of tea, when dinner began. We teased him a little about how much sugar he put in his coffee. When dinner was over and the fortunes came around his fortune stated "Don't put so much sugar in your coffee. Her father will think you are extravagant."

I bet lots of you have sat there after reading the fortune in your cookie dumbfounded, feeling somehow cheated and/or wondering there has to be more to it...

Well, there is. It is a little known piece of info, two words in fact, that changes the entire experience of the Fortune Cookie. Armed with this valuable information, and I will share it with all my Mudcat friends, you will no longer be wondering about the fortunes you encounter.

So now I pass on the secret...and ask that you share it only with those extremely close to you lest the secret become too well known and the mystery of Fortune cookies becomes ruined...

So now I entrust to all of you fellow Mudcatters the key--simply add these to words to the end of each and every Fortune:

"in bed."

Believe me, it makes a world of difference, and the grins on your faces will make the less fortunate Fortune cookie readers you see you wonder even moreso why they just don't get it...
