Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: Bobert Date: 09 Feb 11 - 04:38 PM Solution to Kendall's 28th amendment already exists... It's called... ...ahhhhh, "The South"... I mean, let's get real here... The average IQ in the South is prolly mid 90s... So all we really gotta do here is just quit holding elections in the South and march Bubba down to get a vasectomy and we'll be most of the way there... Drivin'??? Hey, Capt'n... That's mean... Heck, you think that Stroker Ace is a member of the Mensa Society??? Let 'um drive... B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: Desert Dancer Date: 09 Feb 11 - 04:19 PM Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex. Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article. Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification. --- I think it could be argued that this would settle the "anybody can marry anybody" issue, too. |

Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: Ebbie Date: 09 Feb 11 - 03:04 PM I don't often admit it - but I veer from thinking I'm pretty smart to seriously considering whether I might be borderline moronic. It is unsettling. |

Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: Little Hawk Date: 09 Feb 11 - 01:38 PM "keep in mind that they say that everybody over-estimates their own intelligence" Too true, Ebbie! For instance, it was crystal clear to me from some time in my early adolescence that I was definitely the smartest person I knew, and probably the smartest person I would ever meet. Upon entering any room, I would experience the heady thrill of knowing: "The smartest person here just entered the room." ;-D Yes, it was a great comfort to me to know that although others usually couldn't see it, I was most certainly much smarter than they were...in fact, it would be little exaggeration to say that I was as a pearl walking among swine or a savant standing amongst village idiots as I made my way unheralded through an uncomprehending society filled with stupid people who had barely gotten past knowing how to tie their own shoes and feed themselves, whilst I was pondering great and weighty subjects and treading upon the verdant fields of inspirational genius... And then one day....it hit me like a bolt of lightning....!!! I became aware that I was surrounded by other people who felt the same way I did!!!!!!! They almost all thought they were the smartest guy (or gal) in the room when they entered it! Gad! It was a stunning realization. I had to pat myself on the back for being brilliant enough to figure it out....the only problem is, I'm not not quite so sure any longer of my own innate superiority as I once was. One must face a few humbling moments on the way to enlightenment... ;-D |

Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: GUEST,Songbob Date: 09 Feb 11 - 12:23 PM "Requiring all those teeny, blurry little disclaimers at the bottom of TV commercials to be BIG & clear!" (From a Jon Eberhardt rap:) Food! It's a meal in itself! Ask for it by name -- accept no substitutes! Remember, if you can't eat it, it's NOT food. * Note: * Void where prohibited by law. Use only as directed. If conditions persist, see your physician. May cause obesity. Has been observed to increase hunger when unavailable. Contents may settle. Prices slightly higher in east, north, south and west. - - - - - "It shall be unlawful for anyone with an IQ of less than 100 to vote, breed or drive a motor vehicle." You've read "The Marching Morons" too, I see. Bob |

Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: Ebbie Date: 09 Feb 11 - 12:23 PM If Kendall's ruling came about it seems to me that it wouldn't be all that great a next step to eliminate them. Or at least isolate them. Can you imagine cities where everyone scored below average? That would create a new level of average intelligence. Seriously, if everyone with an IQ below a tested 100 were barred from normal participation in usual activities that would require a sequel to 1984. And keep in mind that they say that everybody over-estimates their own intelligence. A Graph |

Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: Bill D Date: 09 Feb 11 - 12:19 PM Kendall, you better have real careful control over whoever administers the IQ tests......besides, there are some rich ones in the 90s who would try to buy the entire system. Even if you managed to get it done, in a generation all those 100+ IQs would be refusing to collect the garbage or work at Walmart. ...and THEN...*grin*...all those over 120 or so would want to redefine the curve so that 100 again was the 'average'. Why, pretty soon, you & I and Chongo would be the only ones left! |

Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: Bobert Date: 09 Feb 11 - 10:16 AM Not to worry, Rap... I mean, LH is gonna have to convince 2/s of the states to ratify the amendment and that takes quite a long time to get done, all the while Chongz will have to be on his best behavior... See where I am going with this... The chimp will screw it up and you can take that to that bank... B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: The 28th Amendment... From: Rapparee Date: 09 Feb 11 - 09:45 AM I have hated Venusian ever since the kidnapped my brother and stuck probes in him. I'm sorry, but I can't be a party to LH's suggestion and will actively work against. Perhaps I wouldn't be so prejudiced if they hadn't let one of the probes in him. I won't say where it is, but we have had to cut out the seat of his pants ever since. |
