Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Our Sarah's Getten' a Chap From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 14 Oct 04 - 11:13 AM There's enough of a sound file of it on this page to give the tune, for anyone who fancies having a go. Actually I'd think it wouldn't need much adjusting to be done in most dialects/accents, and wouldn't lose that much. The humour lies primarily in the situation. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Our Sarah's Getten' a Chap From: gecko Date: 13 Oct 04 - 06:14 AM Thank you for your various replies. I've since come across a dusty copy of 'Songs of the people' - Lancashire dialect poetry of the industrial revolution, edited by Brian Hollingworth in the early eighties, containing a veritable wealth of Lancashire poetry including 'Our Sarah's...' including three verses not in the song. Let me know if you are interested and I'll send them on. |
