The 12 Suggested Steps of Neocons Anonymous

1.       We admitted we were powerless over the globe--that Iraq had become unmanageable.

2.       Came to believe that a process more honest than ourselves could restore us to democracy.

3.       Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of the Law as it limits and contains us.

4.       Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves, and of our bank balances.

5.       Admitted to the press, to the people of Iraq and to the people of the world the exact extent and implications of our wrongs.

6.       Were entirely ready to have the voters remove all the neo-con defectives in our government.

7.       Humbly asked the Treasury to remove our payroll.

8.       Made a list of all persons we had harmed, (several volumes in length) and became willing to make amends to them all. Decades of community serve here.

9.       Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10.       Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it, with three independent witnesses present.

11.       Sought through reading, listening and thinking to improve our conscious contact with reality, as we try to comprehend it, praying only for knowledge of the people's will for us and the democracy to carry that out.

12.       Having had a moral awakening as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to neocons, to help them heal and to practice new principles of justice and humility in all their and our affairs.

5. Practicing noticing illogical statements and identifying WHY they don't make sense. Some examples:

•False information such as "peace is actually war because...."
•Altered chronology or sequence such as "we are still deciding whether or not to go to war...." or "I stopped drinking when I wa smuch younger..."
•Misassessment of importances (saying unimportant things are important, or vice-versa) such as:"The Consitution of the United States should be subordinated to the moral codes of one small segment of the United Statesbecause I am President."
•Wrong targets for effort, such as : "We are fighting a war against terrorism so we will invade Iraq."
•Omitted Data of importance such as "The real reason for asserting there are WMD in Iraq is...."
•Data included that is irrelevant, such as "Mission Accomplished....".

Find several examples of each of these different kinds of flaws in any newspaper on any given day. Repeat until it becomes natural to reject illogical assertions.

1. Get the idea it might be possible to survive one minute of compassion a day and try practicing it. Start on small things, like flies with their wings pulled off, and graduate to puppies that have been stoned, cats in snowbanks, and if you can work up that far, pregnant mothers with minimum wage jobs as their sole source of support.

2. Recognize the difference between strength and cruelty. Practice noticing this difference in every walk of life for five minutes a day.

3. Study the provisions made in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution relating to individual rights and protections, and work out for yourself why such protections might have been selected by the Founders. Compare this reasoning to the arguments supporting extended police powers, the Patriot Act, and enforcing moral codes by oputting them in the Constitution and decide for yourself without relying on anyone else which makes the most sense.

4.    Write a two-page essay on the necessary exceptions to "Thou shalt Not Kill", "Do Unto Others as thou wouldst have them Do Unto You". "Thou shalt not covet....". Explain how to rationalize these exceptions so God will understand. IF you don't believe in God explain how to present them to a World Court.

Well, I reckon if itr's okay to poke fun at liberals then the same should be true about the Bush worshipers...

1. ADMIT to yourself that you are powerless to do this by yourself.

2. RECHECK the U.S. Constitution to see if there is a remote chance that the 3 branches of government *aren't* NASCAR, Budwieszetr and Country Music.

3. SWEAR OFF *right wing* media for 90 days... Hey, cold turkey! No back-sliding.

4. ANSWER the following question: How do you *really* balance the budget by bleeding it with bug tax giveaways to the rich?

5. RETHINK the litany of excuses that Bush has used for attacking Iraq and then but little "true or false" boxes next to each and thak the test.

6. ASK yourself why it is that so many old time Repubs don't like or agree with Bush one darned bit.

7. GET DRUNK, go out and drive your car thru your community and then explain to us why this qualifies you to lead the free world.

8. SNORT SOME COKE and then explain why drug dealers should be killed by the government.

9. LEARN TO READ stuff that might not fit on a bumper sticker.

10. CHECK OUT the folks who are on their feet 8 hours a day checking out the Chinese made crap you buy at Walmart and see if you can find your grandmother.

11. SELL your stock in Halliburton.

12. IF ALL ELSE FAILS, just shoot yourself. You and the world will be much better off...
