Subject: RE: BS: radiator question From: Bert Date: 04 Feb 05 - 08:24 PM If they loook reasonable with no heavy rust inside, then they should be OK, they wont be quite as good as new hot water radiators though 'cos they're too heavy. And don't go the other way. Hot water radiators will not work with a steam system - very dangerous. |

Subject: RE: BS: radiator question From: Mingulay Date: 04 Feb 05 - 05:59 PM Steam is VERY hot water. You would need to check that they are not rusted too badly and the fittings are compatible. Also if the new host system is up to the job. Try and find a friendly local plumber or knowledgeable person to check them out. Playing with these things can be dangerous. The best advice I can give as steam radiators are not at all common this (UK) side of the pond. |

Subject: BS: radiator question From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 04 Feb 05 - 05:43 PM Can the steam radiators removed from my church's office be used to replace the cracked hot-water radiator in a friend's home? (They were removed and replaced by a more modern system.) If nobody remembers whether the office radiators were for steam or hot water, is there a way to tell by examining them? |
