Subject: RE: BS: Inroducin' the Washington WIZARDS!!! From: Bobert Date: 01 May 05 - 09:30 PM Hey, firget Jahidi, Severn.... I'd have Ben Wallace back in a heartbeat... Talk about a dumbass trade???? Look at the Pistons... They have Ben Wallace and Rick Hamilton (former Bullets) and who do we still have that we got from them? No one, that's who... Yeah, Earnie Grunffeld wouldn't have traded those two guys away in a million years... Now as fir White? Etan Thomas is a better all around player and if White were back, he'd be comin' off the bench, which would be real nice, but Thomas would still be the starter... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: Inroducin' the Washington WIZARDS!!! From: Severn Date: 01 May 05 - 08:58 PM If The Wizards could play defense for more than a spell, they might actually get somewhere. Now if they'd kept Jehidi White, a Georgetown trained center, rather than Brenda and Kwame, we'd have a tough inside game to go with the shooters. Our big men are incapable of having more than one or two good games in a row. But it's been a DAMN long time since we saw, much less WON a playoff game, so I've gotta be happy, if only momentarily. Then pray for some good off season fine tuning from Mr. Grunfeld. |

Subject: RE: BS: Inroducin' the Washington WIZARDS!!! From: Gorgeous Gary Date: 01 May 05 - 08:34 PM Hey, can I join the party too? Granted, I'm more of a college basketball guy (and hey, placed second in the office pool this year!), but I usually try and keep one eye on the general sports goings-on around here. And between the Wiz in the playoffs and baseball just down the street, it's certainly turning into a fun spring! -- Gary |

Subject: RE: BS: Inroducin' the Washington WIZARDS!!! From: Bobert Date: 01 May 05 - 08:00 AM Well, JOhn, Wes indeed *was* the man and I love Wes Unseld but, truth be known, Wes wasn't the best GM around... Earnie Grunfield deserves most of the credit fir the Bullets blossoming into the Wizards... But, yeah, the year the Bullets won the championship in the 70's, Wes was a dominant center fir a guy who couldn't jump... |

Subject: RE: BS: Inroducin' the Washington WIZARDS!!! From: Bobert Date: 30 Apr 05 - 10:23 PM Well, sniff.... Thankee to both o' you you allz fir comin' to the party and...sniff... if nobody else shows, hey, I'll consider this night to be one heck of a party... I mean. like I've been a Bullets fan since they was the Baltimore Bullets back in the 70's an'...sniff... they have been thu so much adversity over the last couple of decades that I don't think anyone could find and professional sports team that has had such a long run of bad luck, bad choices, bad this and bad that... I mean, bar none... So winnin' a playoff game fir this team is like hitting the lottery 'er even better than hittin' the lottery... Thanks fir comin' to the party, Rap and Eb... I think there might be a couple cold beers in the fridge... If not, I'll run up to Sweet Springs Store and get a cold six-pack o' Iron City... Sniff... I'm still choked up... Jock Bobert |

When the NBA Washington Bullets changed their name to the Wizards about 7 'er 8 years ago I said to myself "I ain't callin' 'um the Wizards until they win a play-off game!!!" And I haven't allowed myself to call them that until tonight... Yes, the "WIZARDS" beat the Chicago Bulls this afternoon!!!! Go Wizards!!! Bobert |
