Subject: Search failure From: sleepyjon Date: 14 Jan 23 - 02:10 PM Was I doing something stupid? - I put in a search term "songs for Burns night" (Not sure if it required a ' in Burns' so I tried a search for just "Burns") - all I got in both cases was "An error occurred while executing the application. Please try again or contact the administrator." Maybe it's an age thing - ? SJ |
Subject: RE: Search failure From: DaveRo Date: 14 Jan 23 - 02:27 PM Yes, it's an age thing, But not your age. Search is broken. It's been broken for ages. Use google - just add site:mudcat.org to whatever you're searching for. |
Subject: RE: Search failure From: Joe_F Date: 14 Jan 23 - 05:36 PM If the powers that be could see a way to deleting the inoperative search facility, or attaching a warning to it, then it would cease to cause people to waste their time starting new threads like this one, and other people to waste their time telling them not to do so, which seems to happen several times a week. |
Subject: RE: Search failure From: FreddyHeadey Date: 14 Jan 23 - 08:11 PM For some subjects ('Burns Night' is a good example) the thread filter works and can give good results. Just above where the threads list starts theres a box marked Filter. - Type burns night in the box - Change Age 7 Days to All - Click Refresh |
