There is a new epidemic spreading across the land. Millions of innocent people all over the world are infected with this dreadful disease every month. Experts say taht by the end of the year, everyone in the world will have had it at least once. This disease has even been the cause of death for hundreds of people. It is not a new disease, but the epidemic is rising. There is no cure. It is called Foot In Mouth Disease. Doctors say the only way to combat this plague is through education, sterilisation of the foot and mouth, and quarantine. Please do your part in combatting this horrible affliction. Thank you.

I disagree - I doubt it is ever fatal - just horribly embarassing. It just feels like you want to die when you have it.

Oh Dear--I've had a chronic case for years--maybe since birth--I have always asserted that it is incurable but not fatal, at least not to the infected person.

i welcome foot in mouth disease and hope that more poeple catch it, particularly politicians and public figures. I'm extremely sick of cunning, cagey polticians and their lies, connivances and contrivances.

the only way we ever find out what is really going on is when someone like that puts their foot in it.

It is bad to put your foot in your mouth and it is bad to shoot yourself in the foot. But, when you shoot yourself in the foot while your foot is in your mouth, the risk of co-lateral damage is significant.

He was born with a silver foot in his mouth.
It wasn't until later that they found the silver spoon up his nose.
