it is an awesome song Clinton! A real chilling sparseness to it and has kind of an Appalachian sound to the melody.
I only have a partial recording. The CD is available for mail order from the UK but I am gonna try to find at it HMV this week. I already searched online for lyrics but no luck so far...
I want to learn it and do it a capella.

I did think Songcatcher needed some more traditional music in its soundtrack! Not at all sure why the typical Holywood score was used in much of it...

This song's harmonies and the way the melody climbs did sound that way to me...in a Child Ballad kind of way but with a bluesy feel as well, hard to describe (obviously).

Hey Neese- I tried to find you something. All I came up with is a page of lyrics from the Ballads and Candles album. Rose Kemp does vocals. But the only song with blood is blood and gold but here's the link...click here
