Subject: BS: If they had found their true calling From: Donuel Date: 04 Oct 07 - 11:38 PM It seemed so clear to me today that if George W Bush had found his true calling which should have been high power speed boat racing (on a par with NASCAR but even redder around the neck) we would be a better nation today. If he had found his boats, Molly Ivans would still have been significant, perhaps Govenor after Richards. If Hitler had found a benefactor for his beautiful Bavarian watercolor landscapes (that unfortunately were never commisioned) the world would be a better place. The artists and musicians of Europe would be sublime without measure. If Edward Teller had gone into Optics instead of the H bomb he could have discovered how to make gas deposition diamond lenses with remarkable properties leading to new breakthroughs in physics. If Condi Rice had won the Tchikovsky piano competition in Moscow she would have gorgeous little pianists of her own. IF Dick Cheney had been drafted he might still be a miserable son of a bitch. |

Subject: RE: BS: If they had found their true calling From: Big Al Whittle Date: 05 Oct 07 - 04:04 AM if Ewan MacColl had been talent spotted as an actor in the 1940's whisked off to Hollywood and become a matinee idol like David Niven......I bet that fashion amongst singers for sticking a finger in one's ear would never have happened. |

Subject: RE: BS: If they had found their true calling From: GUEST,The Anti-Christ Date: 06 Oct 07 - 04:20 PM If Bob Dylan had received more encouragement early on when he was in his rock phase in high school (they said he sounded a lot like Buddy Holly), he might have kept singing on pitch in a fairly clear voice instead of swooping and surging and trying to sound like he was a toothless and ancient denizen of the Schmucky Mountains who had just rode into town with a wagonload of parsnips. What a loss to music!! |
