Subject: BS: 'Enough' of McCain/Palin Whining... From: Bobert Date: 11 Sep 08 - 08:20 AM Well, it seems that Barak Obama has had "Enough" of the whining of McCain and Plain and has introduced the "E word" into his campaign... Good on him!!! What are the Repubs thinking about anyway??? Whining their way all the way to Penn. Ave??? Bad campaign strategy and getting a tad on the boring side, too... B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: 'Enough' of McCain/Palin Whining... From: Ed T Date: 11 Sep 08 - 11:46 AM An idea, Why don't the public/media force them to focus on how they propose to identify and handle the issues? There are plenty of them....once they are elected, it's too late for voters to whine. |

Subject: RE: BS: 'Enough' of McCain/Palin Whining... From: dick greenhaus Date: 11 Sep 08 - 02:55 PM Ed T An excellent--and obvious idea. Why can't Mudcatters focus on the issues, either? |

Because all this other bullshit is just so much fun! Sorry to say it, but it's true. My brother, who is a civilian employee of the US military curretnly living in England, phoned me last week while we were evacuating and, coincidentally, Ms Palin was just starting to become a public figure. His comment: "Man, this just keeps getting better and better ~ what'll be next?" Of course, all these silly distractions play directly into the interests of the candidate and party with the most to lose were public focus to be kept on serious issues. Which is another way to say that they are in direct opposition to the public interest. Still, the whole deal is simply much too amusing to ignore. One of the TV comedians reecntly announced that he was sacrificing his own professional interests by supporting and voting for Obama. Continuation of Republican rule would give him much more material to work with... |

Subject: RE: BS: 'Enough' of McCain/Palin Whining... From: Peace Date: 11 Sep 08 - 03:32 PM "Why don't the public/media force them to focus on how they propose to identify and handle the issues?" Because the effin media have been part of the effin problem for seven effin years. They have cosied up to Bush and Cheney, and the media no longer knows HOW to ask questions they haven't been given by the effin Bush administration. Bastards for whom I have had NO trust since 2002, mmay the fuckers be on the umemployment line as of right effin now. Good question, Ed. |

Mort Sahl tried to continue has political comedy into the Johnson administration and was kicked in the teeth for it. He essentially had to retire, but returned when Nixon was in office. He said that Democrats aren't funny because they take themselves too seriously. He said he came back with his comedy act because, as a source of material, Nixon was just "too good to be pass up". |

Subject: RE: BS: 'Enough' of McCain/Palin Whining... From: dick greenhaus Date: 11 Sep 08 - 06:56 PM The media, imperfect as it is, focuses on what's new. When Obama was new,he got a lot of play. Same goes for Palin. |
