make all the drugs you want to illegal... you'll never stop ONE single person from getting high...

My parents are from Glasgow, which means they're incredibly hard..but I was never smacked as a child.....well maybe one or two grammes to help me get to sleep at night.

Wouldn't an obesity epidemic cause an increase in Twinkie sales? Anyone had a Twinkie recently? They replaced cane sugar with corn and they taste...well they don't actually. They are bland, tasteless spongy bits of crap. They deserve to go out of business.

Maybe I need to go up the Prozac dosage.

"They are bland, tasteless spongy bits of crap." Oh, come on! They have sugar and fat in them. They aren't that tasteless. When I was a senior in high school, my lunch usually consisted of a package of twinkies and a half pint of chocolate milk.

Twinkes aren't all that great for the munchies. You want potato chips or corn chips or Slim Jims or those little frozen egg rolls. You want salt. Maybe the dope back in Spaw's day inspired cravings of a different sort, I don't know.

They are very difficult to open. I have gone to health food munchies:

Bread, lettuce, jam, lettuce, peanut butter, lettuce, lemon wedges,
lettuce, mayo, lettuce, chips, lettuce, jam, chips, peanut butter, chips, pop, chips, lettuce, pop, lettuce and cabbage. I really like deep fried turnips. And lettuce with pop and chips with lettuce. My ears are getting long and I like lettuce.

Back in the day, marijuana inspired munchies were always a running joke with someone buying out the Twinkies at the local grocer.......just an old joke which of course crossed my mind in the usual sideways way when I heard about Hostess. Just a joke.

Who gives a fuck about the War on Drugs? It was a joke! Unfuckinreal................

did anyone hear the NPR piece on Wonderbread the other day?...I guess it was inspired by this bankruptcy filing. They were joking about the old claim that "Wonderbread helps build strong bodies 12 ways" (some of us are old enought to remember when it was only 8)....

It sort of does my heart good to know that a company who has made a fortune selling calories with almost no nutrition is falling on hard times...I used to show people the "Wonderbread cocktroach test"....put 2 pieces of bread, 1 Wonder and one whole-grain GOOD bread in a dark cupboard for a couple hours, then open the door and note how the little fellows avoid the white crap...

I remember once when I was a kid, my mother put some rolls (made by the Wonder Bread folks and essentially the same thing) on a plate in preparation for dinner. She had just washed the plate and forgot that she hadn't dried it. She didn't notice that there was a slight pooling of water on the plate. A little bit later, when she reached for the plate to put it on the dinner table, she saw that the rolls had dissolve in that little bit of water and what she had now was a plate of slime, with only the tops of the rolls still more or less intact.

That was about the time when she stopped buying their products.

There are so many varieties of really good bread out there that I can't imagine why people would buy something so nuthin' as Wonder Bread

Oh, but the D.A.R.E Program WORKS! Just see the front page of today's Torrington (Wyoming) Telegram. Next article down says that 53% of 9th graders have had at least one alcoholic drink in the past 5 months. 65% of 12th graders have.....one of the highest percentages in the United States....I forget just how many years we have been doing D.A.R.E here....a lot.
