Here is one for the taking. It'd be a great story to use on stage to remind all of the less than truthfullness of the USA's administration.

My old uncle always said that George Washington came from Texas. When he cut down the cherry tree, his dad asked him, "Did you cut that tree down?" George said, as we all know, "I cannot tell a lie. I did it." His father said, "If you can't tell a lie, you can't live in Texas."

And he moved to Virginia. (What goes around, comes around !)

For years I used those kinds of "jokelore" to frame my songs. It was a way to make the old songs more relavant to mod folks. All the old songs I cared about tended to kill of many, many people---but a bit of timely humor defuses what might be objectionable to some.

Kat, Chris is coming out to troubleshoot the computer tomoroow. (Saturday.) Good thing. Maybe he can gigure why my DVD won't put a picyure on the screen. ...and why I, suddenly, have no address book in the computer. ...and why my printer won't print out that same sddress book when I do manage to find it about 5% of the time. Chris does this stuff like it's second nature to him. Sort of the way you and Joe and Max do 'em. Makes me feel absolutely moronic. Maybe I can get him to fix my electric wheel chair too... And all of our circuit breakers were tripping for about a week here. Just when I'd called someone to fix 'em, they all decided to work correctly again.

But, as the Kingston Trio once said, "All's well that ends well, I suppose."

M'boy Chris was here this afternoon and fixed everything. We can now watch a DVD, I get my e-mail just like before, and the address book on the computer is full to the brim once again. Best of all, I now know what a hugger mugger is (sort of) !!

All is well with the world.

I'm glad I finally decided to read this thread. At first, I thought it was about sex with a senior citizen.

Anyone heard from Spaw?

A little boy was sitting on the sidewalk eating candy bars. An older gentleman, a control freak, (probably a republican) said "What are you doing"? Kid says, "What's it look like? I'm eating candy bars."
Old guy says "You will never live to be a hundred eating that crap."
Kid says, "My grandfather lived to be well over 100." Old guy says, "He didn't do it by eating candy bars, did he"?
Kid says "No, he did it by minding his own f*****g business."
