Subject: BS: O'Bama sign seen today From: Greg B Date: 02 Apr 08 - 10:35 PM This morning on the way into work I saw a pickup truck with a sign about 2-feet square attached to the tailgate. Seemed to be vinyl, professionally made. Green background white lettering. On the top it said O'Bama. On the lower part, it had some sort of a shamrock in a circle icon. If he becomes President, I think I'm going to look back on this morning as the day that I just "knew" that he was going to win the election. |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Bama sign seen today From: Donuel Date: 03 Apr 08 - 10:16 AM It is a violation of the Hatch Act for me to put an Obama sign on my property. I have to break the law to even display a Barak bumper sticker. I will have to break the law to paint Obama on my wood stockade fence with Linseed Oil. Later if Barak is undone by the powers that be I can paint the rest of the fence with Linseed and at least the fence will last longer. |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Bama sign seen today From: Ebbie Date: 03 Apr 08 - 12:25 PM "I have to break the law to even display a Barak bumper sticker." Donuel No so, Don. The Hatch Act allows both the federal employee and/or the spouse of said federal employee to sport a partisan bumper sticker. It even allows you to park said vehicle in a parking garage designated for federal employees. |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Bama sign seen today From: PoppaGator Date: 03 Apr 08 - 01:31 PM Reminds me of a Paddy's Day nametag sticker my brother wore to work one March 17 several years ago (when he was my employee). This thing looked like it may have been produced by Hallmark Cards, Green ink on white background, festooned with shamrocks, the printed copy read thusly: HELLO My Name Is O' ____________ Paul filled it out to say: HELLO My Name Is O'SHIT I laughed so hard my coffee came out of my nostrils! |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Bama sign seen today From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 03 Apr 08 - 01:38 PM I've only seen one Obama bumper sticker in Florida. It was on Interstate 10 just west of Jacksonville. Regretfully, the driver of the car was driving in the fast lane at well under the posted speed limit. Talk about bursting my bubble! And here I thought the Republican Party had a monopoly on idiocy! |

Perhaps she is for Clinton or maybe she is afraid the good Christian Rebublican neighbors will start up the vandalism again. We had to call the police several times during the last election. |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Bama sign seen today From: Donuel Date: 03 Apr 08 - 06:35 PM I have taken a closer look. The Hatch Act as interpreted by HSS: We are permitted to have a political bumper sticker but not allowed to park on Federal property. One can not wear a political button to work. We are specificly forbidden to post any political signs at our home. Political appointees can do whatever the hell they like but they are not suppose to require civil servants to go to political pep rallies...which has been done illegally several times specifically for Bush. |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Bama sign seen today From: GUEST,Guest Date: 03 Apr 08 - 08:46 PM So, we are long time members of MN oldest food coop. One of the employees who is a long time friend of ours was told she couldn't wear her Jesse Jackson '88 campaign button. Seriously. They told her it would offend our African American customers. Seriously. After that little fracas, she forced the issue, and now no more political campaign buttons at all. Question: how many politically correct managers does it take to screw in a light bulb? Answer: depends on if it is a compact fluorescent, or regular bulb. Question: so which one is dimmer? Ebony or irony? |

Subject: RE: BS: O'Bama sign seen today From: Donuel Date: 04 Apr 08 - 01:04 AM Seeing that different departments have different interpretations of the law, I wonder if the enforcement and punishment of those who break the Hatch act would have to answer to that particular agency or if enforcment would fall to the FBI. |
