The news is such that I can go to bed reassured.... Thanks for keeping such close care of him Jacqui.. Hugs to you both Good close ones Tinker |

Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: VirginiaTam Date: 03 Dec 09 - 02:42 AM Very good news apart from the allergic reaction. Sure it wasn't just nerves? My Andie used to break out in horrible hives when she was under major stress. He has been under a lot of pressure of worry. I know he seems all smooth on the surface, but maybe he is like a duck, paddling for all he's worth underneath. Kat is spot on with the ice packs. dampen and freeze some tea towels and you can mold them around different affected areas. Spaw - that shingles thing is worrying. TSO's Mum had last year at 81 and she suffered a good deal. His dad has (what the very young GP is calling) ecxema but I think it is shingles. Because: it came on so suddenly, he is in terrible discomfort, cannot handle pressure or brushing of fabric against affected areas, keeps getting a bad chill. He is 90 and he nursed his wife when she had it last year. We are going to ring the parents and recommend they seek a second opinion and to give all the info, especially Pam's case last year. Kendall getting some of his voice back will be fantastic. Maybe around the time I can finally get to the north east USA I will hear a tall tale, mayhaps even a song. |

Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: MikeL2 Date: 03 Dec 09 - 05:30 AM hi jacqui Great to hear the good news..... Hope they can find the cause of the allergy soon...strangely enoughI had a couple of allergic re-actions during my treatmenat but nothing as intense as Kendals....they never have nailed down the cause.....occasionally I do get an outbreak but I have the medication ready and it clears almost instantly. You are in good hands... I'm batting for you.. regards Mike |

Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: kendall Date: 03 Dec 09 - 07:15 AM Virginia Tam, there are few things I'd rather be able to do than to sing you a song, or tell you a story. I'm back to normal...well, normal for me; and one thing they suggested that I write on the back of my drivers license, ALLERGIC TO LIDOCAINE. I did. |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: Becca72 Date: 03 Dec 09 - 09:26 AM That is a very common reaction to lidocaine. |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: jacqui.c Date: 03 Dec 09 - 10:06 AM I'm just glad it happened at the doctor's office and not when we were on the coach heading home. As it was, it scared the life out of me to see Kendall in such distress, particularly knowing the way that allergic reactions can go. |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: katlaughing Date: 03 Dec 09 - 10:32 AM I think the Universe needs to take a chill pill and give you folks a rest! Sheesh! I am doubly happy you were in the doc's office when it happened. maeve, thanks for the link. That is indeed recognition long deserved. luvyakat |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: Bat Goddess Date: 03 Dec 09 - 10:35 AM AND you were very close to Mass General. (Walking distance if so inclined.) Glad the news is good! Dr. Z "is like a guided missile" when it comes to eliminating every single cancer cell. Linn |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: maeve Date: 03 Dec 09 - 10:37 AM My dad had the same reaction to "Caine" drugs, Kendall. Imagine your bad reaction on top of arms covered with poison ivy lesions. maeve |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: SINSULL Date: 03 Dec 09 - 10:50 AM Have to admit - Jacqui's phone call scared the crap out of me. I had visions of organ transplants. Come on you two. Give it a rest will ya? Can't have you looking like a teenager with acne when you pick up your Grammy. SINS |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: Charley Noble Date: 03 Dec 09 - 12:03 PM (Expletive deleted) Here's to a new brighter day! Who needs allergic reactions on top of what must already be a stressful experience? Glad to hear you're safely back home. Charley Noble |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: Stilly River Sage Date: 03 Dec 09 - 12:44 PM What a roller coaster of events and emotions this thread represents. Good luck in all of these things, Kendall. The nomination should put some bounce in your step and help with the recovery from everything else. Hang in there, Jacqui! SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: VirginiaTam Date: 03 Dec 09 - 12:46 PM Virginia Tam, there are few things I'd rather be able to do than tosing you a song, or tell you a story. Oh dear Kendall. I didn't mean for me especially. Just that I would look forward to any sessions in which you may be performing, when I finally get to a Getaway or visit New England and beyond. Also expressing hope for recovery of your voice. Sorry.. did not mean to offend in anyway. |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: KT Date: 03 Dec 09 - 12:59 PM What a frightening way to wrap up a long day! Geez - you two sure know how to get the most out of a day though, don't you? From "waiting game" trepidation to eager hopeful anticipation for meeting Dr Z. to surprise hives to Grammy nominations! Jacqui, how many times did you ask, "How you doing?" on the bus ride home before he got up and took another seat? Sounds VERY hopeful! Hooray! KT |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: jacqui.c Date: 03 Dec 09 - 01:02 PM VT - I don't think you offended Kendall - there really are very few things that he would want to do than to tell stories and sing again, to you or to anyone else. He misses that voice, as do we all. KT - He was very good, put up with my ministrations pretty well - I think that they may have put a sedative in the mix, though! |
Subject: RE: BS: Another biopsy From: kendall Date: 03 Dec 09 - 01:56 PM VT you most certainly did not offend me. Anyone who loves Glen Coe can do no wrong. |
