Wow, I've just returned from one of the finest weekends of my life. Went up to the Garden State to annamil's gathering and to see Karen K., bbc, Duane D., Annamil and Glen, Bert, and of course Sam, Ian and bill. Boy did we have fun. Annamil is a spectacular host, far too kind to us, above and beyond the call of duty. We ate like kings.

We all went to the gig at a local pub, just off the beach on Saturday night. The talent I saw on a collective and individual level sent chills through my body and "practice, practice, practice" through my mind. Intimidating and inspiring all at the same time. Just like the PGA Tour commercials: "These Guys are Good!" They did two sets of unbelievable stuff, and then we had a sort of open jam where Bert and I did our best to follow that act. My daughter Alexis (11) came along which gave me great joy for her to witness my friends, the music, everything. It was a great night.

Sunday, we awoke to Karen K's beautiful voice and then good tunes off the stereo, pancakes and kayak rides in annamil's beautiful river. What a way to wake up. Then off to the beach we went. Sam, Ian, Alexis and I spent a couple of hours swimming and sunning and shell hunting. Couldn't have been a better day for it.

I'm left with no words that can explain my gratitude to Anna and my appreciation and admiration for the boys from across the pond. I am a lucky man to have such friends.

UPDATE: Sam, Ian and Bill are off to Amish country this morning and should be arriving here in Mudcatville midday today. I'll feed them, show them around my cute little town and get them some sleep in preparation for a big show tomorrow night. If Mudcat Radio ends up anything like Saturday night, its gonna smoke. Can't wait.

Max, so glad that you had such a fine weekend. Sounds like Sam, Ian and Bill bottled some of the atmosphere from previous Mudcat Gatherings over here and release a little everywhere they stop... Mudcat Magic.

Well we sure as hell had a fine time with them! It was just WAY TOO SHORT as you recall from my post on THIS THREAD. We needed a lot more time!

HOWEVER........You are all of course welcome back, but now it seems you are DEMANDED BACK since I've got the little clay possum REALLY mad at me. I mean, like, I had a few other things on my mind and all, but I gotta' tell, Cleigh O'Possum is really mad! Seriously, the little guy is all bent out of shape........CHECK IT OUT HERE

Right... I think it would be good if Jellybeam and Gill Pirt could get into FolkChat tomorrow, to talk to the lads during the radio show.

Has anyone got Sam on their ICQ list already- then it would be easy to invite Gill into the FolkChat. I have his icq no but it needs authorisation.)

Gill and Geraldine- do you know anything about icq? Very steep learning curve continuing.... :0)

mum - info on mudact chat and radio & ICQ - In the process of the computer being moved from room to room from house to house I think I am no longer on ICQ, unfortunatly.

However, Noreen could advice you on re-installing it. It is rather complex and if this freaks you out it may be easier to go round to someones house with radio and chat access.

ICQ is a chat program (text chat) you can get ICQ here

you need to install it..... then let us know what your nickname & ICQ number is.. then people should be able to invite you into the chat room

while you're installing.. you might want to do paltalk download then you can actually "talk" to them if you have a mic.... I know Max is able to access paltalk... so they could speak to you

Thanks folks, for picking up on this. I would suggest Gill and Geraldine just concentrate on ICQ, as time is limiting before the radio prog (forget about PalTalk for now).

To get the chat room set up:

Open ICQ
-Click on "ICQ" in the bottom left corner
-Select "Find/Add Users" then "Find/Add and ICQ Active List"
-Select "Search by ID" and type "62415725" into the box

It will probably be off-line until the radio show. When the show starts:
-Near the top of the ICQ menu, there should be a button saying "Show AL" - click it, and it should change to "Hide AL"
-If it already says "Hide AL" you're OK
-You should have "FolkChat" (or maybe just the number) down near the bottom with a dot by it.
-----If the dot's green, just click on the "Join Chat Room" bar up near the top.
-----If it's red, right click the mouse on it, and select "connect" - your dot should turn green and then you can "Join Chat Room."

I clicked on install ICQ over an hour ago and its still not complete so may have to rely on paltalk or even the phone to get involved with the boys on Mudcat radio. Anyone know the dialing code from here to there?

Such a flurry of activity - and a big shame that I cannot hear the broadcast. Hope to hear it another time but tonight it was not to be - I do not have the necessary bits apparently ! Maybe next time.

Just been to yoga class - how am I meant to clear my mind, be a tree and meditate when all I can think of is 'I wonder what the latest is on Mudcat?'.

Sam will be wrecked when he comes home - and so will I through lack of sleep ! I've really got to like the PM's - what a good idea, who invented that ? Can't wait for lessons on how to really use it when Sam gets home.
