Subject: GUTLESS' IDIOT GUEST' CHAIN UPDATE From: catspaw49 Date: 13 Feb 01 - 11:33 PM Recently an Idiot Guest/Member chain by e-mail began among several Mudcatters and friends who had been asking each for more stupid, cowardly, idiot Guest/Members, as needs arose. The Idiot Guest/Member chain grew in number of recipients and requests for sniveling, wimpering, cocksuckers throughout that month and was issued weekly or oftener as urgent needs required. The Idiot Guest/Member Chain is still very new (but getting real old) and is still creating itself via flames received from gutless wonder, Idiot Guest/Members. Its existence evinces respect for Mudcatters who find Mudcat-posted flames from Idiot Guest/Members problematic, and it allows for Idiot Guest/Members in an environment free of condemnation or censure, except for the occasional castration. The Idiot Guest/Member list also includes flames for the Mudcat Cafe and its leaders. Of course these flames, like all flames on the web, are entirely optional! Participants are expected to exercise mature responsibility in how they use and respond to the list-- there are no Idiot Guest/Member Chain Police forcing anyone to read the bullshit provided or the situations described. Participants also are expected and asked to provide feedback about the conduct of the Idiot Guest/Member Chain. This includes thoughtful discussion toward consensus should anything about these miserable little, pissant motherfockers be offensive in any way. Spaw

A mere three catters posted to WYSIWYG's thread, so no wonder it's all a bit obscure. I'm glad I got it sorted out, though. Pornorgraphy falls well within the embrace of my warm tolerance, whereas prayer lies well beyond. The sooner Max strikes his blue pencil through Praise's superstitious babbling, the better for all of our salvations. I don't hold with anyonymous posts either, but if Max had struck on that basis, we wouldn't have had the porno parody, nor Spaw's parody of the parody. I'm just bitterly disappointed that Praise is still spreading her crap on Mudcat (albeit under the new WYSIWYG persona) having promised to abandon us to preach in other pastures. (That promise was a bit like the magician Paul Daniels saying he'd leave the UK if Labour win the election. Labour won, and a newsaper sent a removal truck to his door, but still the fucker wouldn't go.) I seem to remember that in announcing her (conditional) return, Praise undertook to hold fire on the mumbo jumbo. I expect it was a Christian's promise (cf Simon Peter). Anyway if we can keep responders to her prayer threads down to three or less, there's a chance she'll get the message. |

This is a member flaming another without the courage to use their name........Guest/Member. In this case, we have gone round a lot about "healing threads," religion, "prayer chains" and all of that and reached a sort of truce. I'm an agnostic and in all truth, I believe that if it works for you, fine......Don't "inflict" yours on me and I'll do the same. WYSIWYG/Praise/Susan has maintained a lower profile and simply put up a thread for those (and there are quite a few) who might wish to participate in her prayer chain. Not a big deal and definitely not an "in your face" thing. At this point, a member of ours who lacks the guts to use their own name, posted several threads ... "Curse Update" and "Pornography Update"... modeled on her text. If you have a problem, at least use your name......they didn't and they never do. These are members, not really guests at all. I'm wearing out on this crap and we've sorted out the worst of the problems to most people's satisfaction. Our Member/Guest is just stirring the pot and so I started this one. I have a far bigger problem with anonymous assholes than I do with anyone's religion and how they practice it. I'm ready in this case to have an "outting" of this member, but the call belongs to Max and I would never push it. Its not about censorship or about guests or about religion. What it is about is the lack of courage and courage of conviction to use your own name........and about causing and continuing dissention on a basically dead issue. For some of the newer members, let me explain something. A convention that is seldom used here at the Mudcat is when someone says " 'Nuff said." When it is used, however, it's a good idea to respect it. It means, "I'm being as polite as I'm going to be, but DROP IT." I guess the penalty for not honoring that hint would be losing the respect of the person who declared " 'Nuff said." As explained above, this thread was started in response to one aimed at me and activities associated with me. So the one who can claim the right to say " 'Nuff Said" on this matter would be ME. I did say it on another one of these threads to forestall people feeling a need to defend what needed no defending; it was respected and I appreciate that. This thread provided a light relief to the heaviness of the idea of flaming, for a time, and while that was its focus I had no problem. But now it's gotten several other agendas mixed in that could run on and on ad nauseum. If you really want to address a serious subject-- please, would you start your own thread with a title that lends an opportunity to make a start at a reasonable discussion? Just because this topic restimulated a concern you have, does not mean you have to use this thread as the platform to address it. So-- 'NUFF SAID. ~Susan |
