My name is Jon Corelis and in 2005 a rhinoceros chased me across the African grasslands. Cornering me in an elephant graveyard, he attacked and ripped my bag off. A pack of hyenas ripped off my dick as well and I was left to be eaten by vultures. Fortunately I was rescued by a great white hunter who took me to a local witch doctor who was able to fasion me a new penis from a roll of aardvark jerky as well as new nuts from two nuts. I am now on a world tour telling of my journey and recovery from the attack. Sadly, the only lingering condition seems to be a raging case of the shits which hits me every 9 minutes.

Looking at some of the above replies, I seem to be turning into a myth before my eyes. Maybe I will turn into a Sasquatch.

Here in Northern Wisconsin there are two predominant religions: football and hunting. Ever the stranger, I don't subscribe to either.

I don't know if there have been Sasquatch (or similar creature) sightings in our woods. I could ask some hunting acquaintances.

Can I ask you a question? If you were a classics major, how come you're not posting to the Latin pronunciation thread? True Mudcatters can hardly keep themselves away from discussions of language. Somebody even uses the word 'ablative' (whatever that may be) on that thread.

I've always like the pluperfect. I've never figured out what it means, but I love the word.

I haven't been able to keep up with all the traffic here, but I will look at the Latin thread if I can find it.

Pluperfect in grammar means the perfect viewed as being in the past, e.g. perfect "Now I have seen" (action completed at present moment) becomes pluperfect "by then I had seen" (action completed at some past moment.)

Ablative is the name of a case, but it would take a tedious explanation to explain what that means.

As a writer, surely you know the perils of ambiguity and obscurity in your declarations; they bring about failure of communication.
