Steve Last will finish us off, at our Sing a Round on Monday 19th April. One of our friendly Morris Teams will start us off with a short display, and then join in the Sing A round. So please come for some fun and to welcome the spring in. Bring your instruments, voices and sakers and expect everything,you mad Mudcatters. Don't forget the fist ever Spring Song Special is almost upon us, we will be welcoming George Papavgeris on May 10th in The Function Room. £4.00 Entry.

I think Dave & Derek have done bigger & more frequent things than me

Dave sang sea shanties to zillions of people at the festival of the sea thing in portsmouth
Derek was on Come Dancing watched by millions and was a member of Windward for a couple of years

I was a cog in the university workshop group. We did two village concerts for Jubilee & 2000 where there was a couple of hundred and a University thing in a church where there were about a hundred (that's where Jacqui Dankworth was on the bill and Cleo & johnny were there)

I've got me digital if you want a picture done Monday, or I could paint one by numbers

I was impressed by Fancis Kempster's singing too, though I may prefer her singing from the Tradition rather than original material, but I've yet to decide, but then being older ones tastes are more of the mature so youthful dross was a phase long abandoned.
Unless its really well researched and written.

Boy done good

In the last 12 months Steve has developed a repertoire that is fresh and at the cutting edge of contemporary song writing and last night he barely scratched the surface.

He is singing with clarity, and his guitar work is simple, yet technically challenging.

7 great songs from the influences of Steve Tilston, Tommy Sands, Eva Cassidy, Dave Webber and Tom Paxton.

An all round entertaining and well thought out set, the time flew by.

If you come to the Spotlight on Sunday 25th or the Duke of Marlborough next Tuesday 27th April you'll have another opportunity to hear Steve as he supports Les Sullivan and Dan MacKinnon respectively.

I only counted 17 on that list, but yes I was counting the diners in the corner because they stayed almost til the end and one of the poeple showed an interest in coming back some time, and they paid into the whip round, so that was good enough for me. Hi Martin - that was good about the diners - I didn't realise that they had paid into the hat - I did see them responding well a couple of times - they threw a potato at me

I took the photo in last night with a copy on a floppy disk - the photo didn't look to bad

I wasn't in a very good mood last night and lost 4-2 at dominoes but I won the putting away

Has Cathy contacted you - there's a do on, on May 2nd (the day of your spotlight?)
