Subject: RE: Andersons Coast HISTORY req pls From: Andrez Date: 17 Aug 09 - 05:45 PM Sad to say, there is a lot of development planned to happen in the area that is Anderson's coast so the reality might be a bit different from the images the ballad evokes. In the words of another well known bard: "Dont it always seem to go That you dont know what youve got Till its gone They paved paradise And put up a parking lot" Cheers, Andrez |
Subject: RE: Andersons Coast HISTORY req pls From: Tangledwood Date: 18 Aug 09 - 04:35 AM Jo, more of the history is included in this thread Note that Eileen Ann Moore has written an additional verse which completes the story, that is, the shipwrecked convicts rescued a lost explorer and were pardoned. The explorer was Pawe³ Edmund Strzelecki. Some of his history is on wikipedia which will give you a date, but sadly no mention of the Anderson's coast story. |
