Tech: Help! Zen MP3 Player documentation?!

We just got a Zen Vision M mp3 player as an early Christmas present, and I've been able to transfer some mp3 files onto it, and even play them. But I'm having trouble working out how to use it properly. I don't find the keys and menus etc. on the player very easy to use so far, probably due to my own ineptitude.

The small handbook that comes with it only has very basic info and doesn't describe the menus, etc. in any detail. I've tried to find the relevant documents on the CD that comes with it, ane found my way to a website that seems to have some documentation, but I can't seem to find what I want, which is basically a good old fashioned user guide in WOrd or PDF format that I can have on my PC disk drive and read, to find out how to use the *&^£%^& player.

It's driving me mad going round in circles trying to find somethjing sensible to look at. Why does everything have to be so &^%$%^* complicated these days? I'm on the verge of taking the thing back, but I don't like to give up that easily.

I can't find a Vision M (a couple of other visions) but there are some manuals on the creative site. thry here

Had me puzzled at first btw. I was thinking of Zenworks

The only documentation for this player listed on the Creative site is the Users Manual. There are a series a menus and a place where you have to check a box to agree to their terms to download the PDF, but here is where you start:

Thanks everyone. I've decided it must be faulty so I'm sending it back.

The only manuals they have online or on the CD etc. are a copy of the hard copy one you get with it - as I said, it's not very detailed and certainly doesn't explain what all the menus and options are, which is what I wanted to know.

But I reckon it's faulty anyway, so I think that was the problem, rather than just my stupidity/ignorance. There's a sort of pad in the middle and you select things using the top/bottom/left/right. The right hand side selection 'button' seems not to work, hence the problem.

A pity, as I got it mail order from Amazon, so I doubt I'll be able to get a replacement before Christmas at this time of year :(

If it is new, call tech support (check at www.creative.com for the number). I bought an old Nomad JB III a year ago from them (yes they sell used thru their ebay store) and even though it was out of production for years, they gave me 6 months support and were very helpful.

BTW, the JB III records up to 9 hours in .wav (CD quality) format through a line-in jack...very handy for recording gigs, practice sessions, etc.
