Subject: RE: Review: Tom Russell's New CD 'Hot Walker' From: open mike Date: 05 Mar 05 - 03:33 AM Tom is an extra-ordinary songwriter! His stories are superb, characters are memorable, and historical research impecable. more reviews here: http://www.tomrussell.com/Hotwalker.html A Hotwalker, by the way, I believe is someone at the race track who walks horses until they cool down... only one problem...as a radio programmer i will need to be careful when i play this new one as some parts will not be radio-appropriate! |
Subject: RE: Review: Tom Russell's New CD 'Hot Walker' From: GUEST Date: 05 Mar 05 - 10:33 AM Tom Russell was on with Mike Regenstrief on Folk Roots on CKUT-Montreal about a month ago and they played the whole album. Brilliant and compelling stuff. |
Subject: RE: Review: Tom Russell's New CD 'Hot Walker' From: robomatic Date: 05 Mar 05 - 10:53 AM I heard a song by Tom Russell shortly after moving to Alaska in 1984. Trouble was I didn't know it was Tom Russell, and the radio station was out of business before I thought to ask. Found out about three years ago and it turned out I was reviewing a Tom Russell album for the student radio station at the same time "Man From God Knows Where". The song I was so enamored of was "Cropduster". |
