Subject: RE: New year in St Albans From: The Stage Manager Date: 17 Jan 04 - 12:28 PM Guru, You're forgetting all the fun! Last night Breezy hijacked a hotel restaurant and then commandeered every seat from the adjacent bars that wasn't actually bolted to the floor. Most of the 'regulars' and Friday night punters had to drink standing up in 'The Hart' last night, Strangely, they didn't seem to notice. Despite a slightly late start due to a couple of particularly obstinate diners who refused to acknowledge the frenzy of furniture shifting going on around them, Jeremy Taylor gave a great performance to a packed and appreciative audience. To finish off a perfect evening, Breezy announced that it was definitely undecided where we were off to next week, but tantalisingly gave us a list of possible venues. The suspense is building already. Bet you're missing it all really. I can't believe it's actually happening. SM |

Subject: RE: New year in St Albans From: Singing Referee Date: 19 Jan 04 - 05:36 AM Thanks Breezy and everyone else at the Legion last night. I really enjoyed myself, hope you did too. One again, thanks for the chance, Breezy, and thanks to all for the kind words after. Ref. |
Subject: RE: New year in St Albans From: Moses Date: 19 Jan 04 - 08:41 AM S R Well sung! (Legion last night) Appropriate to have a ref "kick-off" at a new club (I can't believe it was planning on Breezy's part) Good to hear so many talented performers - (Did himself pay his 50p fine for running over time??). Performers get there early next week to book the best spot. Musically, anything goes (remembering it is a family show!!). Plenty of parking and (fairly) cheap beer and there is a very good chance this club will continue to meet where it's supposed to, probably, well .....possibly. |
Subject: RE: New year in St Albans From: breezy Date: 20 Jan 04 - 06:07 AM Andrew went to Tudor last night and played 'Blue Moon' again. |
Subject: RE: New year in St Albans From: Hamish Date: 21 Jan 04 - 03:06 AM And very fine it was, too. Especially close up. (I had the privilege of sitting right next to him. Sometimes these things look easy from a distance - oh it's just a descending bass on C major sort of thing - but close up it's humbling.) Class act. |
