Subject: RE: Birthday Thread--If you want it known! From: Twilight Date: 01 Apr 99 - 09:48 AM I was born in Norway, far far north in the land of the vikings on December 14th, 1971 :) (yes I know, one of the itty bitty people) I decided to add my birthday since I'm now (as of a minute ago :)) a member of the mudcat cafe. I finally decided to join, having spent every available moment the last week (only discovered you a week ago), stuck in front of my computer reading up on threads and lyrics :). You really should put up a warning sign, saying higly addictive, this thing will turn your fingers keyboard shaped, your eyes square, and make the idea of doing anything vaguely sensible (work perhaps?) seem absolutely ridiculous. I must have spent hours and hours here, in stitches at some of the stuff you people have written, and I always have to check new threads when I come home, just in case I've missed something. I'm going to the Caribbean on holiday on Wednesday, and I decided this was getting a little much whenmy first thought was, 'but I'll miss a whole week!', so I'm now trying to ration time here :). I've travelled the internet quite a bit, but this is the first time I've ever found a place that I've actually wished I could be part of, so I decided to jump in and try it :). Congratulations on a really really cool place :)! Having read about you all, I hope you manage to have some sort of a get together at some point, as I'd be dying to see some of the characters here for myself :). You also seem to be a lovely mix of people, and from what I've seen you're warm, funny (hilarious at times), talented and full of surprises! I'll not take up more space, this being a birthday thread and all.... Thanks for hours of great entertainment :) Vibeke, now living in Stavanger in Norway PS; I know it doesn't belong here in this thread, but I thought it might be worth a try :).. Is there anyone out there, who might have heard an irish song called The Night O'Rafferty's Pig Ran Away??? |

Subject: RE: Birthday Thread--If you want it known! From: catspaw49 Date: 02 Apr 99 - 09:49 PM Next to the stove in the kitchen with a saucer of warm milk nearby, I was born to an American short hair tabby. It was a small litter (1) and she lavished her attention on me. Her sire, a part abbysinian, taught me how to fling litter at an early age and Mom passed on her great talents and kitty vocabulary. About the time they were ready to have me out from underfoot, both died of common cat diseases...but they were great while they were here. That would have been June 8, 1949 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio...a great time to be born. |

Subject: RE: Birthday Thread--If you want it known! From: danl Date: 15 Jun 99 - 03:22 PM my party trick always seems to be telling people how old i am and then letting them get on with that disscussion they always have about the songs i wont know, the famous people i wont recognise, the things that will mean nothing to me because im just too young to remember.... yes here i am again taking my place as the youngest at the party.... 1st of january 1982. that makes me 17 if your maths is failing you. i can hardly belive it myself sometimes. according to my friends im more 17-going-on-70 but never mind. anyone want to challenge that then? or any other new year babies? apparently its very lucky for a family to have a baby born on the 1st, but im not sure if my mother would agree seeing as i was born in the middle of a snow storm in (so ive been told) one of the black holes of this otherwise lovely isle called Ormskirk. it means 'the place of the worm' and makes me a Lancashire Lass. or so ive been told. love ivy b* |
