I'm having a new mattress delivered today one of those new memory foam jobs. The latest thing, so I'm told, so I wont be doing much at all this weekend. Oh and I've got a bottle of champagne on my desk, which wont be on my desk for long !! Are you measuring bricks today? Looks like a good day for measuring bricks. They'll need lots down your way after that tornado, get yer tape out Ross, you could make a killing !! Have a fun weekend, I will be staying horizontal! |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: breezy Date: 08 Dec 06 - 01:23 PM ! horizontal is one of my prefered posishuns 2 You mentioned blanks earlier, not a reference to that chap at market rasen by any chance? I fell in love with Jenny Crook's harp playing last night as it rested on her thighs. Her fingers danced and plucked the strings, all I could do was sigh singers night at Redders next Thursday, Cathie, Ross, can you get up there?, party the following week, we all get up there, bring a box of mince pies ! |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 11 Dec 06 - 05:26 AM Hi PA/JB It's very damp in Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire this morning Last Friday was a non brick measuring day - as is today I might go to Redburn one night before Christmas - not sure yet which one Letchworth & Baldock have an Australian duo on this Wednesday at the Orange Tree - 13th Barton is TUESDAy this week - the 12th Don't forget otherwise you'll end up at the OAP rotary dinner complete with mushy cabbage and brussel sprout sauce Champagne - now you're talking |

Tweddle got my vote, well done Sara Phillips, at least she's good looking and doesnt look like a horse. the daughter was on for 1 second, but I missed that clip raining hard on the M1, but cars just zoom on by in poor visibility. Now for toast Herga tonight, Pinner Green Social Club £2 a pint everyone welcome to contribute as it is a singers club have a dry day |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 11 Dec 06 - 07:02 AM Torrential here all night and this morning, our village is flooded so we all swam to work, because we're loyal and hard working - yeh right. I saw Sports personality, caught the clip of Breeze junior, glad Phillips won, my friend met her at an event, said she was very friendly and approachable, no high security rubbish. And she makes a fuss of her horses so she's ok in my book. She's advertising Land Rovers to fund her riding the photo on the ad is brill. Champagne is still unopened, but it may go pop later this week. |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 11 Dec 06 - 07:10 AM I'd agree - Zara's efforts this year were quite outstanding - although money/parents and the horse helped a bit The competetion was a bit lame - Tweddle's efforts were incredible considering where we used to be in gymnastics A year ago we blew up here in Reddders when Buncefield exploded Happy days I do feel a trifle soggy now |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 11 Dec 06 - 07:25 AM Ah soggy trifle - too much sherry. That reminds me of the old proverb (dont know why): Man who goes sideways through airport turnstile is going to Bangkok. |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 11 Dec 06 - 10:33 AM Warsaw was probably the outcome Not much to say today I went out to look at estimates on a fire escape ramp for at a school and a bathroom refurbishment today The latter was an employee of Jimmy Jewel the diamond mogul and a neighbour of Stanley Kubrick on the Chidwickbury estate near St Albans Gosh What do get if you drop an anvil down a pit shaft - A flat minor |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 11 Dec 06 - 11:18 AM Sorry Ross, but I do not believe there is a place called Chidwickbury! Isnt that somewhere near Camberwick Green. No much happening here 'cept rain. Got posh frocks do tonight. Horsie end of year stuff, dinner and awards and speeches, the old man's eyes will have glaized over after about 15 mins. He cant even drink cos he driving and its miles from our place. Poor sod, things he does for me. And dont forget, a crowded elevator always smells different to midget. Over and out. |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 12 Dec 06 - 04:12 AM There is honest - it's quite close to Leverstock Green which has a Pancake Lane (which was blasted by the Buncefield explosion) You could say it was battered How was the horsey do - did you make it down the home straight? I watched the Dennis Waterman police thing last night - he stars in it, writes the theme tune, sings the theme tune etc It was all about greyhounds ITS FOLK AT THE BULL TONIGHT - they couldn't fit us in Wednesday due to OAP invasion Today is clear and sunny in Biggleswade Wilko, Tango and Roger |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 12 Dec 06 - 05:34 AM We've got Lickey End (honestly) and Pikes Pool Lane ! Horsie do was brill, even the old man managed to stay awake! the highlight of the evening was the lady on the next table who was wearing an almost fluorescent pink dress, one of those skin-tight,strapless, boned jobs, the thing was she must have been 16 stone with at least a 40'' bust! My mate Jo was heard to remark 'b'jeezus can yas imagine the size of the bloody hoss'! But she was enjoying herself, so who cares. And todays thought is: Man who eat many prunes get good run for money |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 12 Dec 06 - 06:19 AM Very good - I suppose PA would have preferred Foxtrot What would we do without Wilkinsons - bargains galore and you can even park on the roof at the Hitchin branch Stop press - TAM LIN making guest appearance at the Bull tonight free Btring your tape recorders & video cameras We have lots of roads called Bottom in Bedfordshire - Adams Bottom in Leighton Buzzard is a very classy close off Plantation Road |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 12 Dec 06 - 06:25 AM We've got a dead posh road in a nearby village. The houses are so big you cant see them from the road, absolute megga bucks, sooooooo posh. Then the lads from UB40 moved in and the parties started - ha great fun! |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Scrump Date: 12 Dec 06 - 06:31 AM Blimey, you must have good handbrakes to park on the shop roof - some people will do anything to avoid parking fees. Seems strange to name a street after the world's oldest arse (am I allowed to say 'arse'? Or should I have said 'backside'?) |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 12 Dec 06 - 08:02 AM I forgot to say - large ladies in tight pink dresses always have their knockers Heard on the radio - A good name for a UB40 tribute band would be WD40 Scrumo - as long as you don't insult any religion apart from christianity - you can say anything Babies to give DNA samples to the police - good job - I never trusted those bas***ds |

Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Scrump Date: 14 Dec 06 - 04:06 AM It was a great night at Baldock last night - sorry you all went down with the dreaded lurgi (ooerr! hope I haven't caught it from you lot on Tuesday - I seem to be suffering from tiredness, headaches and dehydration, and an empty wallet this morning - are those the symptoms? ;-)) Mundy-Turner were really good - I was going to buy their latest CD but they sold out too quickly! But Jay said he would send me one today, and not charge for the postage. George did Mabel's song (Without You On Christmas Day) and Empty Handed - brilliant as always. Hobbsy did a couple and Robin Harper did the support slot (the regulars were given a night off from me!) |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 14 Dec 06 - 04:23 AM Yeah - that sounds like it + measuring brickwork I'm measuring carpentry today I forgot to say yesterday - I was walking around a very disfunctional farmhouse yesterday estimating repairs to damage done by the Buncefield explosion - the occupants bedroom hasn't had a ceiling for a year As we were in the bathroom the cat came in and started drinking out of the loo - oops I've been invited to Ascot tomorrow - should I go with the lurgi? |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 14 Dec 06 - 07:01 AM No Ross - Go with a top hat and tails ...........so dapper |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Scrump Date: 14 Dec 06 - 07:22 AM Why, is the lurgi liable to be passed on to the horses? If you wear a face mask you should be OK. You might get arrested on suspicion of robbery though. They might think you are Raffles, the gentleman thief, if you have the top hat on as well. Talking of Raffles, I didn't win again last night - bah! I've only won it twice, and each time was when I drew out my own ticket and had to give it back :( |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 14 Dec 06 - 07:49 AM That's not fair - complain to God Is it wise to rob a horse? I've just had my haircut for Ascot tomorrow - I look gorgeous I'm hoping some mysterious Princess will wisk me away to her castle of looove; somewhere hot Either that or Princess Anne will punch me and tell me to f orf I'm going to be in a corporate box with it's own ashtray, free wet wipes and a view of the car park Are jockeys really only two foot tall? |
Subject: RE: Christmas time at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 14 Dec 06 - 10:28 AM Princess Anne doesn't tell people to f orf, she tells them to naff orf, so much nicer. Have they really only just got round to repairs after the Buncefield thingamy. Wots a disfunctional farmhouse, is it a farmhouse that just cant cope, or has personality disorders does it want to be a flat or a bungalow. Was it abandoned by its garden shed when it was just a plot? Of course you can borrow a horse Cathie, which one would you like, the fat one, the hairy one, the tall skinny snooty one, the muddy one, the little one who bites your legs, my sons pony that kicks anything it can reach usually my husband, the quick one, the plodder - or my mate Red who shags anything that moves (or that doesnt move quick enough that is)? Who said they dont have characters. Ross have you measured that box will it be big enough? Jockeys are any height you like as long as they've enough velcro on their bottoms. |
