I thought some of you might like to know that the 17th Wolverhampton 'Wolvestock' Country music festival takes place this week end 23th & 24th July. Two stages featuring top live acts each day from Noon, plus a line dancing stage. Lots of Stalls, food, bars etc and it's all FREE. The forecast is very good so come and have a great fun day out. It's in East Park, Hickman drive, WV1 2BS
n.b camping has sold out

I spent about six hours in the Minerva session on Saturday before returning to Leeds on a train full of Liverpool football supporters (and police).

Very good turnout and good singing (at the pub, not the train) .

I managed to sneak my Tom Waits song into the singaround after which a man that I had never met before came up and shook my hand saying how much he had enjoyed it.

Wish I could have stayed longer

Like Mick kept saying all weekend - the best of the 21 so far. A superb effort by all the organisers, and thanks to all the artists who gave their services so freely.

And let's hope next year will prove to be better still.

Roll 'em up, roll 'em down
We'll all get drunk in old Hull Town
48 hours of singaround
We'll go rolling down the Humber

You can probably guess the tune.

Verses on their way to you today Mick!

The Maritime Museum is a wonderful venue, many thanks to Ann B, and the staff who were very helpful. I heard from friends that the Ferens Art gallery songs and stories were amazing too. It was a pleasure to be involved and the Fruit venue is another to be used again. Great to keep Hull on the Shanty festival map.
Thanks to Mick and Pete, Les and Maggie and ALL the others involved.

Went to folk club last night and our 'ladies' were raving about the festival in general but particularly Paul & Liz Davenports stint in the Ferens Gallery-they loved it! Well done to everyone involved.
