You've gone too far. In another thread you professed not to know that you've pissed off anyone- well, take it from me, you've done a good job of it, and come out smelling- not like a rose - just smelling.

When you make ignorant comments about someone we know well - and you DON'T - you display only your own small-minded, laughably ill-informed, brainless persona. You say you are 44 years old? Ha. Grow up.

AWG, just who the hell do you think you are?

The vast majority of people on this forum are likeable, knowledgeable, and very friendly and helpful to newcomers. New members, be they neophytes or long-time musicians, are very welcome and warmly received.

You've only been on this forum a short time, and in that time you've managed to alienate practically everybody except two or three people who, themselves, are very good at making themselves highly objectionable.

Grow the hell up and try to behave like a civilized human being, or get lost!

Have to say I've never seen that before. Somebody starts a thread called "My apologies to everyone on this forum"--which seems to be totally needless--since apologies weren't necessary. But then he spouts off so mindlessly that apologies are in fact necessary.

Sounds like the originator of the thread was, for some reason, desperate for attention.

I keep trying to take your advice Ronny. For some erratic reasoning I end up back here on this thread, and again wasting valuable energy.

I find your analogy of 'moth to a flame' rather cliche. It's more like having a bad Dan Hill song (then again is there a good Dan Hill song) going through one's head, for some reason it won't go away.

Subject: RE: My apologies to everyone on this forum.
From: Ron Davies

Bad analogy? Pobre cito.

Perhaps you'd like to enlighten us as to who Dan Hill is.

Joe Hill, Sam Hill, Blueberry Hill--but sorry, Dan Hill rings no bells.

Sure is nice to know, "Tolerance"--(perhaps you might consider a more appropriate handle)-- that you don't insist on the last word in a thread, like some of us lesser mortals. After all, that would be wasting yet more "'human energy". And we know you wouldn't want to do that.

For SHAME, Don! Dan Hill is the sappiest, most cloyingly romantic folkie pop singer-songwriter in the history of Canadian music. He appeared around the mid-70's. He was managed by Finkelstein & Fiedlier (the "Two Bernies), Canada's most influential folk managers, who also managed Murray McLaughlin and Bruce Cockburn (that's pronounced "Co-Burn", by the way....). Dan Hill has written songs that can drive you right nuts if they get in your head. "Sometimes When We Touch" was his ultimate in that respect. He also looked ever so sweet with his curly dark hair, soulful eyes, and bare feet. He's nicer than Paul Anka...but then, who isn't? ;-) What a guy, eh?

I want to strangle parakeets when I hear his songs.

Furthermore, "pobrecito" is a single word, not 2 words. It means, as I think you know, "you poor little thing...".

Well, you got me mixed up, that's for sure.

As for Dan Hill, I will admit to disliking much of what he did. However, I part company with y'all on the value/worth of "Sometimes When We Touch." I think it's a good song, well-written and meaningful. The melody is pretty. Here, from 'Brokeback Mountain' is a presentation on youtube.

I shouldn't come down too hard on 'ol Dan Hill. He has matured considerably since "Sometimes When we Touch" which I'm online with LH regarding his description of that dreadful song (sorry Peace). I commend Dan on his lyrics to Joe Sealy's Africaville Suite which certainly deserves a salute of respect.

LH--I've seen "Pobre cito" as two words. And, for some reason, I like the way it looks. YMMV.

I sometimes wonder if using it ever causes anybody to try to look it up. Or to gnash their teeth at the insidious spread of Spanish in the US of A.

I do find it quite handy. And it's shorter than "Mir kommen die Traenen"
