In this morning's news...

Story about the Chicago Medical Examiner's Office having lost another body (apparently they've been losing quite a few of 'em).

In an interview with a local undertaker (the one trying to retrieve the body from the ME's office) the undertaker said, quote:

"I think it's a problem of the ME's office not keeping their records up to snuff."

Then comes a radio advertisement for Rosetta Stone® Language Learning Systems. The advertisement says that you can "learn languages like the people at NASA learn them"

huh?

So, Rosetta Stone® Language Learning Systems has a DVD for learing Martian? Moontalk? Venusese?

Presumably the Nasans have to talk with other techies around the world tracking the course of Nasacrafts' peregrinations, and perhaps they now realize they can't expect the whole world to speak THEIR language?

Oh sure, drain the idea of all humor. I think one of the "W"s in WYSIWYG stands for "Wet blanket". harumph.

Weren't you at least mortified at the Medical Examiner's story? Wasn't it a killer tale? Wasn't the comment about being "up to snuff" dead on?

Tough audience.

Losing bodies.
Reminds me of a prank carried out many years ago, when two drunks, one an embalmer, stole a corpse from a local funeral parlor and took it to one of their watering holes. It (or should that be he?) was ordered a drink, which was served.

My former brother in law was a nurse in the army. On posting to Germany, they selected a person to dress as Santa and be wheeled around the hospital distributing largesse and alcohol in equal quantities... 'Santa' came from the morgue. They wheeled him through the mental health ward singing 'God rest ye, Jerry Mentalmen'.

Maybe the Rosetta Stone language tapes have one in Klingon. I have a Klingon dictionary but I'm having trouble with some of my pronounciations.. I can't seem to produce enough phlegm.
