I've been in contact with the Maryland State Police. The whole bunch of them were tossed into durance vile last evening, although almost everyone made bail. There are laws in Maryland about a bunch of naked people running down the street singing "Fa la la lee loo lee la" at the top of their voices and off-key.

We missed you-all too, but, well, I guess we had less time to think about it. We had to juggle the time pretty energetically to get it all in. Ended up shorting the sleep budget again, but we made up for it by looking worse'n usual and drinking more than usual.

Rapaire, well, he gets like this when he can't have his way, he just kind of invents things, you know. That story about the MAryland police wasn't true.

If the assembled talent here in the tavern had sung to each other rather than complain about missing The Getaway, you'd have come close to matching what we had going. I've actually had the privilege of hearing a lot of you.

If each of you had picked and posted a favorite song for the tavern, the Getaway attendees could come back to a whole lot of things they wish they'd heard or sung where we were and be envious of YOU. Except, of course, the few with laptops who strangely go missing for a spell that could have learned one of YOUR songs by Sunday or at least sung it off of a sheet they'd claimed they had with them all along. By the following year, you could even do workshops in here!.

SINSULL had the right idea by sending something down to be sung. The Peter Kagan & The Wind" parody spoken and sung by Gordon Bok himself in front of an audience that included its subjects Kendall & Jaqui came off wonderfully. You should've been there, yes, but the fine bunch in here was missed, as well, in the fleeting moments we all took to do so. Your spirits were among us.

You're right, Stilly. About three AM on Saturday I woulda given my left ... for a slice of Mario's grilled auroch steak. On the other hand, when you are weaving into breakfast on 2 hours' sleep and a hangover, even rubber eggs and Doanwannaknow sausage patties will do more for you than a virtual groaning board with no calories or mass.

Actually, Amos, you are correct. It was not the Maryland State Police: I did not want to embarrass you and the others by mentioning that it was actually the Prison Special Weapons and Tactics Unit, that they exhausted their pepper spray and tear gas and finally had to subdue y'all with tasers, expandable batons, and bean-bag rounds.

well - I will admit that it's hard to beat my grilled auroch - but that is because:

a) I only use Transylvanian grass-fed auroch from prior to 1100 AD

b) I grow my own herbs in the garden behind the Mudcat Tavern. The combination of fairy dust and possum pellets in the garden beds there cannot be matched elsewhere.
